To all the tech wizards out there,she bought an iPad a few years back but her waste of space boyfriend changed all the passwords and then killed himself(we will NOT be going into that)

Luckily she was still logged in but has been doing modules to further her care assistant job,she's done about 20 out of 28.

Unfortunately though someone has managed to lock her out and she has no way of guessing the password. If she somehow finds an wizard of unlocking will her stuff still be there or is she shafted?


She's totally defeated,and I feel strawberry floating helpless. She can start again on my Samsung tablet but she's already come so far and she said it was really difficult.

It's just one thing after another in this shitty life.

Can you not get it unlocked via jail breaking it? Or take it to one of those mobile shops to unlock the device?

Failing that, if you have all the gear and can prove ownership maybe call Apple?

You can get the password reset if you have all of the personal information associated with the device, my mum forgets hers all the time, it's strawberry floating annoying.

Otherwise it's encrypted and impossible to retrieve possibly with or without jail breaking it, there was a lot of fuss with the US gov trying to gain access to these things when they turned up in terrorists bedrooms.

Easiest way is to have access to the email address associated with the Apple ID, is that the case?

What are the course modules on? Can’t she log onto that separately or was that one of the things that the iPad was logged into automatically?

I would try to get in touch with whatever platform is running the modules and get them to reset her login details so she can do them on another device while
you sort out the iPad fiasco.

Changing all the passwords shouldn’t really be an issue if she has access to the email they’re associated with though, right? She can just request password resets to that email.

I have no idea. I saw it on the front page of Games. Weird.

You’ll have accidentally clicked on the little-used “advice” tag instead of the Games heading. I do it occasionally. They’re stupidly close together.

I was working on a theory where the forum recognised me as a tech wizard and guided me here but I suppose yours makes sense too.

Yeah, the "touch zones" for items aren't very well spaced. Neither is the entire layout.

This page is a rollercoaster.

So... did this get resolved? We demand answers!
