If you leave a yogurt alone for 300 years it will develop a culture! :slol:

I'm so sorry.

What do you get if you post the setup line of a joke on an internet forum and then forget to post the already disappointing punch line within a suitable period of time?

Another situation where Britain IS totally turning into America - every brand now seems to have gone with the american spelling of "yogurt" vs. the good old traditional Great British "yoghurt" :x

Definitely picked up on this when I visited Dublin recently, it was pretty difficult to tell whether half the teens were from Ireland or California.

There was also a recent contestant on The Chase from Belfast who sounded more like something out of 90210.

Elsewhere in the culture, several developments have been identified by worried media commentators as further signs of creeping Americanisation, from the popularity of prom dances among secondary school children to the spread of coffee and donut shops. Then there’s the rise in the number of would-be trendy types who seem incapable of communicating in anything other than American teen-speak. The lingo itself is tediously familiar — awesome, dude, etc — but what’s new is the gleeful adoption of fake American accents.

I don't hear any fake American accents round here, just chavvy white people trying to sound like they're from Jamaica.

In answer to the topic. I'd say having a PM that is the son of an immigrant and openly gay means that, for the republic of Ireland at least, we're not turning into America just yet.
