Running low on cash and space I'm trying to seriously trim down the size of my games collection. I'm happy to put in the time and effort that goes hand in hand with listing on eBay but it's something I haven't done in a good few years.

I could have as many as 300 games to shift from PS3, 360, Wii, 3DS, DS, XBOX and GameCube, many of which aren't worth much at all and some that are.. I'm sure I'd heard that eBay was a lot better for buyers these days than it is for sellers. I understand the fees have gone up too but I just want to know if it's still the best option from anyone who has experienced selling on there recently..?

Just to be clear, I'm looking to sell rather than trade but most of the games will only be worth a few pounds each so I just wanted to know if I'd be wasting my time or not?

Thanks.

It can be a bit of a faff to eBay a lot of stuff, and if it's low value stuff you may find that after fees and postage costs you aren't left with an awful lot. I usually eBay the higher value stuff and take the rest to CEX or Game. CEX have got a great system in place these days where you can take the stuff in and you can get the cash paid straight into your bank account. The prices aren't as bad as you'd expect, and you can check everything online before you go.

Obviously the first thing to do is list everything here though. ;)

Best place to sell them is somewhere where there isn't a fee for selling, e.g. on a forum.

Failing that see what game/cex offer you and if you're happy with it, take it.

I'd probably do a mixture of the above if I had 300 games to get rid of and I wanted to get the most money possible and wasn't bothered about how long it would take.

I've noticed that eBay doesn't seem to be so much of an auction site anymore.. It just seems to be full of Buy It Now listings. Does anyone know the reason for this?

When I sell stuff I just use the trading forum here or on other sites. Too much fannying around on eBay.
