You could just tell from the beginning that it was going to be dissapointing. Hope it isnt, but I bet my money that it will.

Sounds like its going to be 2009's killzone 1.

No game can live up to the hype thats built up for this game now anyway. If its not the Second Coming with Jesus flying a chocolate Stealth Fighter its going to be disappointing.

I seem to remember the first game getting an unprecedented level of hype throughout its development, only to fall a fair bit short on release. Then Guerilla did the same thing again with Shellshock.

Based on the company's history, I'm betting Killzone 2 won't be a bad game at all. It'll probably play a lot better than the likes of Haze and might even succeed in having an entertaining multiplayer mode. That said, it'll never be able to reach those lofty heights of expectation that have been built up by the press. And Sony. [7]

Everything I've seen of it - speaking as someone who doesn't own a PS3 - looks great. I was impressed with the gameplay footage I saw recently. So what if it is 'just' a very well made, but completely unoriginal FPS? I'll take years of perfected basic gameplay principles over any number of frankly irritating half-arsed 'innovations'.

A good-looking, uncomplicated, pure-breed FPS with a great SP?

Yeah, that'll do nicely.

I don't like the sound of the first post at all, but, even if it's true, I'm sure I'll still love this game. I loved the first Killzone :)

I don't think so. Killzone 2 looks like it has some decent gameplay to go along with those amazing graphics. Haze, on the other hand, never looked any good to me.

At first I wasn't interested. But when they mentioned badges and showed off multiplayer...I fell in love :D Forget the singleplayer. I doubt they've done much with the AI but the multiplayer has sold it to me. It's team fortress mixed with Battlefield on a smaller scale making for aggressive and intensive firefights from the look of it.

Is this not one of Sony's last remaining exclusives apart from Metal Gear Solid that anyone cares about haha?
As for Killzone I loved the original - so for that reason I have faith in the quality of the new one... though if it is a PS3 exclusive ill never get to play it :p

I have faith in this, especially given the quality of Liberation on PSP.

It's not making me want a PS3, the aiming in particular looks stupidly annoying and floaty.

But how many of these positive previews are being sourced from the single format magazines?

has any ps3 exclusive delivered on the hype?

It's already been confirmed by Beyond 3d as 720p native with 4xAA

How exactly if the game has not been released can they test this, are they Alpha testers if there is such a thing. Anyway my opinions on this game have not been swayed yet, it does look smashing if you like Grey and the animation is top notch but all the gameplay so far has shouted average with heavy reliance on scripted events, no sign of any intelligent enemies, just ones that hang around waiting to be shot. Infact watching most of the vids the player hardly ever gets shot at even when standing still and taking ages to aim, if it was COD4 you would be dead in seconds. Also the level design showed so far has been pretty bland an uninspirational. All it needs is some QT events and we might have a contender for Heavenly Sword.

It's cocktail time!. Then again when isn't it.
