I only have/had about 10k in stocks/shares savings and a pretty small pension thus far. I haven't look at what's happened so far but I'm guessing its not pretty.

I was actually going to transfer another 13k cash ISA over to a shares on as late as a few weeks ago. Still have the forms sitting on my desk. The rewards of procrastination!

Same, losses now don't really matter to me as it will bounce back. Couple of guys at work are retiring at the end of the month and have been royally strawberry floated though, one guy says he might as well have been working for free for the last 2 years. :dread:

Yeah I feel for the people who thought they were retiring. You should aim that the closer you are to retirement the less of your savings should be in equity.

Yeah that's my plan but I didn't want to say that to these guys - didn't want to kick them when they were down!

I'm actively trying to not look at money I chucked into equities, watching your money disappear can't be great for mental health.

If you don’t real on it for dividends or have any need to withdraw it then just try to ignore it. Take a long term view and it will be fine as long as those companies don’t go bust that is.

Well looks like this is no longer really a question of if anymore.

Everything's kind of in free fall. :dread:

Let’s hope RoTS double posting doesn’t mean a meteor is on the way.

Holy gooseberry fool. It would be awful if there were any further shocks to the UK economy later this year. So glad the government isn't doing anything monumentally stupid like tearing up all trade agreements. They're much cleverer than that.

They have the ability to extend the Brexit transition period but that's probably expecting too much from this government.

Wall Street Journal wrote: Amazon.com Inc. plans to hire an additional 100,000 employees in the U.S. as millions of people turn to online deliveries at an unprecedented pace and Americans continue to reorient their lives to limit the spread of the new coronavirus.

More jobs... yay!

But Amazon domination.

We kind of need the world to adapt quickly and people to get into new, more appropriate jobs.

Thank god Amazon are a moral company who won't possibly take advantage of this desperation!

While I think Amazon are a crappy company to work for I think the main problem is just the lack of paid holiday and sick leave in the US in general. Until they can overcome the republican brainwashing and join the rest of the world in having reasonable amounts of both there's always going to be companies who just give people the bare minimum.

Americans need to wake up and realise they're being taken advantage of and working themselves to death for companies who don't give a single gooseberry fool about them and who have shown for decades they're happy to just sack everyone and strawberry float off to a cheaper place if they can and it doesn't matter if you've never taken a days holiday in 30 years.

I look forward to more 'We have targets, of course we do, but we work hard and play hard...ooooh, Donna's cakes' Amazon commercials about how great they are to work for.
