Is there an easy place to check if a game has a physical release?

Anything to do with games at all.

PostIs there an easy place to check if a game has a physical release?

I'd like to know in general as it would be really useful, but specifically at the moment I'm looking at Okami, Katamari and Civ VI on Switch and trying to work out if and where they got physical versions for importing.

Bonus question: Best place to import for various countries? I've used Play Asia before but that's about it

I used to use Videogames plus for US/Canadian imports a few years ago but don't know if they're still going now.

Okami is on physical in Japan. Don't think EU have one.

Civ VI is on physical media in the UK. Amazon is selling it at £68(!) so it's possible it's a limited release?

Katamari isn't on physical media as far I know. Maybe it's limited to Japan only.

Cheers man

Civ VI is really confusing me. I sort of assumed it was coming out physically (I'm sure I read it somewhere), then back when it got released I couldn't find it anywhere so I thought "huh maybe it is digital only", but not being sure I've been waiting before buying it as I would much prefer it on cart.

That amazon price is... worrying.

So I think after looking some more Okami is Japan only so I should probably download (unless it has english?), but Katamari has a US physical release so I can import that, and Civ VI somehow did get a european physical release and I need to track it down.

Any suggestions on where to get these from would be greatly appreciated!

I have Japanese copies of Okami and Katamari so I can help!

Both have the English language version on the cartridge. My Switch is set to English as default and it loaded up the English versions of the games as soon as the cartridge was inserted. Lovely.

Katamari was released in the US but as a (very limited) Gamestop exclusive and is a pain to find. The Japanese version has English text on the box, but the inside sleeve has kanji. A bonus - the Japanese version comes with some stickers!!

I bought Katamari from Play-Asia. It took weeks to arrive, but then it was dispatched on Boxing Day so was stuck in the new year shipping lull. Okami was bought from bazaar-bazaar.com, which looks ropey but was fine. Both are available on eBay; looks like that's the best price place at the moment so I'd suggest going there.

Super useful, thanks!

EDIT: Found this useful page for checking language options on Japanese Switch games https://www.perfectly-nintendo.com/nint ... -in-japan/

After further searching Civ 6 is less than 40 quid at Argos. Seems to be plenty in stock near me.

I picked up Okami from Play-asia and I'm pretty sure they sorted customs payments etc but can't remember 100%.

Civ VI is in stock on shopto: https://www.shopto.net/nintendo/switch/ ... ization-vi

Perfect! (And thanks Sandy too)

I wonder why GAME and CEX don't list it at all?

Maybe they know their type of clients wouldn’t buy it? :shifty:

I do know that I’ve seen one in my local CEX and it’s almost full RRP. I decided against it and sure enough it was gone.
