The EDL will try and blame this on the Muslims themselves doing it for an insurance claim or to get a bigger mosque built in its place etc....

Don't you know it's racist to question it?

A better question is 'why isn't it terrorism when white people do it?'.

The IRA were white, they were classed as terrorists?

Fair points, I should be more specific.

Why is it that a muslim attacking a white is a terrorist attack, but a white attacking a muslim is a 'racially motivated' attack?

Good question - tell you what, why don't we ask the BBC?

Also, that lettering 'EDL' on the burned down building - are we actually sure that, along with the recent monument that was vandalized with the same, there isn't any kind of 'false-flagging' going on here? Is it totally beyond the bounds of possibility that either militant Muslim groups or leftist anti-racist groups (who we know already are prone to their own form of militant extremism) could be behind any of it..?

This is only a suggestion, not a belief, so hold back on the righteous indignation and moral outrage. At times like these people often forget they should be brave enough to say the unsayable.

oh gottya. I did wonder why they called it racism and not religious hatred too as it seemed to me that's what it was. Some idiot doing a revenge attack on a whole religion in retaliation for the acts of two insane men.

Anders Breivik was called a terrorist.

Also can you see the difference here? A Mosque was burned to the ground. No one was hurt. If it had been fire-bombed whilst people were inside praying, killing or hurting people, then it would have been described as a terrorist attack. Also didn't David Cameron actually call the people who did this terrorists?

Believe it or not 'white people' aren't one race of people, united under the same political and religious banner.

Not sure what your final point has to do with anything, but I don't think a bunch of muslims firebombing a church would have been spared the 'terrorist' label just because the church was empty. And terrorism isn't defined by body count, it's defined by intention; specifically, the intention to control a group by causing them to fear acting in certain ways you disagree with.

This is absolutely an act of terrorism and it should be reported as such. It was an act designed to intimidate and terrify; it was terrorism in a nutshell. Cameron was right to call it terrorism, as should any other media reporting the case.

good point. The Boston bombers were pretty white really, Caucasians from the Caucasus.

Skarjo is right. If the murderers of Lee Rigby had not been Muslim, that attack would not have been described as terrorism but simply the murder that it was. If running somebody over and then stabbing them is terrorism (due to it being religiously or politically motivated) then burning down a Mosque is also an act of terror.

Terrorism is overused though. It's just a buzzword these days. Sure, this could be described as a terrorist attack, but at least no one was hurt. The papers like death and injury as the result of terrorism.

We're getting into semantics here, but this seems more like intimidation from a group who are only semi-organised and probably drunk. I guess you could call it terrorism, but it's gooseberry fool tier terrorism.

That’s true, it takes 52 pages to tell us that in this official definition. ;)

To be fair I have my doubts as well. I mean, what if this is a 3rd party that wants EDL and muslims to clash?

Could they be more obvious with the paintings ? It doesn't seem right

The IRA were very much called terrorists.
