Now it's been established it was a white guy with mental health issues, she's tried to pivot that tweet to mean "no, I never said it was a Muslim! Just that we can expect Muslims to do that stuff!"

I’m not sure they want all out war, but they’re allies will now be forced to back then to the hilt.

No ones going to cut off the arms supplies now, not that they ever would

Yeah, the way she is still trying to defend that initial tweet is ridiculous.

She's strawberry floating horrible.

It’s the innocents caught in the crossfire that we all have sympathy for. Israel should not be using such indiscriminate force to root out an cowardly insurgent group. Hamas and Israel are no better than each other.

When it comes to Iran all I can picture is Homer Simpson hawking T-shirts at his garage sale.

Would love to know what the majority of Iranian people think about all of this. Alas, we'll never know.

I expect most of them are decent human beings who just want a peaceful life for themselves and their families. Just like I expect most of the Israelis, and everywhere else. Sadly we are held hostage by a violent group of leaders who are so dissociated from humanity that they behave like sociopaths. They seek to hold power through fear.

The killer's dad has all-but outed the killer as an fedora-wearing misogynist, which suggests a high likelihood of it being discovered he idolised the likes of Musk, Tate etc, at which point the entire incident will be decried as a false flag, if it even happened at all .

This "apology" (and I'm not sure it counts as one really) coupled with the earlier tweets make me think she's completely lost and gone full blown JK Rowling insane.

I saw somebody describing her as "Tommy Robinson if he could do maths" and I can't think of a better description.

She did go as far as publishing a retraction. Maybe we should seek to set an example against the backdrop of war and forgive?

I don't think anybody here is calling for jail time or for an angry mob to storm the Countdown studio.

She's made an extremely Islamophobic comment and then, only after a lot of criticism, has gone with the classic "sorry if you're offended but you are all too stupid to understand the brilliant point I was making!".

We'll see how much she's taken this onboard and if her attitudes towards Muslims changes. Until then, what is there that's possible to forgive?

She really hasn't. She hasn't even admitted her mistake and has instead doubled down on her ridiculous excuse. Throw in a "sorry if you were offended" and the bizarre "some Muslims rescued me once!" ending and it really doesn't deserve any kind of forgiveness.

Ironic that many are saying that about the scale of Iran's response, but are perfectly happy it seems with Israel flattening Gaza in response to what Hamas did.

I feel Iran used the scale they did to try and show force, they knew it likely wouldn't get through or cause any damage.

Israel blow up an Iranian consulate in Syria which killed some Iranians.

Iran responded with some easily intercepted drones and missiles. Causing no deaths.

It'd be better if both sides stopped acting like utter twats, but I'd say it was very easy for both sides to stop here and not escalate further.
