Starting playing this with my girlfriend, it is great
It has the same constant variety in gameplay and mechanics as A Way Out but built on a platforming base rather than action-adventure. The gameplay is better polished, but the story is much less important - feels mostly like an excuse for the game's variety a la Uncharted 3, but there is nothing wrong with that when the gameplay is so inventive and unique!
The haptic feedback and sound design on Cody's nail in the second level feels so good. We're most of the way through
the wasp shooter section right now (so only a couple of hours in) and the co-op design of it is really smart -
actually requiring you to coordinate your shooting unlike the standard "co-op" shooter design where everyone can do their own thing and at best just pick synergising roles.Loving the minigames so far too.
One early highlight from the game in the first level:
Noticing the weird creatures that watch from inside e.g. oil cans but hide away when you get close, we came across one inside a book(?). I tried to ground pound it, and there is a little unique death animation as it dodges out the way of the pound and then crushes you itself!
