You did open them and get the skill boosts though, right?

I had to buy Hearthfire as the stock Skyrim houses were inadequate for my hoarding needs. I shudder to think how much stuff I ended up with in the end. I had an entire armoury full of weapons with some overspill, and I only ever used Wuuthrad, Chillrend, a Dwarven sword, and a bow. It's inevitable in a game like that though, as they'll throw mage and thief style items at you even if you're running around as a knight type of character. It also doesn't help that you can upgrade your skills by making stuff and commerce, so I ended up keeping tonnes of stuff outside to sell later. It took ages though as the shopkeepers never had enough money so I'd take three grands-worth of stuff and come back lumbered with most of it  :fp:

I installed a mod to give traders more gold because of that.

I had an entire stash of about 30 blue engrams saved so I could do the quick x button trick and I got a half decent result on friday with a legendary heavy weapon and a few motes of light along with the usual blue crap.
I wish I could trade as I have loads of legendary weapons and an exotic helmet I'm never going to use that you guys may like.

The problem with Skyrim is that once you can summon two of those Dremora Lords the game becomes a cake walk.

I don't think I ever spent any money in Skyrim. Just used found items, and ended up with ridiculous amounts of cash and stuff hoarded.

I used to be really bad at hoarding items, but I think Skyrim forced me out of the habit. Becoming over encumbered so often was pissing me off, so I made sure not to take potions/scrolls/books if I didn't need them. I was pretty much getting them for the sake of it, so I stopped that, sold what I'd stockpiled and hoarded, and made sure I only carried the essentials.

I think it increases your enjoyment of the game if you can go through areas without grabbing everything and trying ti manage your inventory all the time. Breezing through and only grabbing what you need is much more preferable.
