I'd like to play Asura's Wrath - I've watched a friend play the opening and it does look completely mad!

Popped into CEX yesterday.

£80 for Twilight Princess and £78 for Mario Party 6. :dread:

Good job I've already got them I suppose.

Popped in to the same store unless you go to Hove (Western Road) and they had paper mario for over £100.

I bought wii u Mario maker for £5

First party Wii U stuff going cheap is probably the best place to speculate on future price increases, so good pick up.

And a good place to invest really. I have with some systems tried to do something I call pre-emptive retro purchasing, it's where I'll buy games for a system which has just fallen out of favour it's not current but no one considers it retro yet but you think it will be a hit one day. For example when people and shops started dumping PSP games cheap I started buying them cause I was sure one day the systems games would get some love and be popular for collectors.

I should point out that I loaned my Wii U to my brother a couple of years ago and haven't played it or even seen it since. It is one of the few consoles I still have a perfect condition box for though, as I have the Wind Waker SE version.

Oh, Cora :( . But... maybe your brother could join Club U! Perhaps he has become a total U fanatic!

That Zelda-themed GamePad sure does look lovely.

With my daughter nearing the end of a 100% completion of Skyward Sword on Switch (her first traditional Zelda game - she's poured about 200hrs into Breath of the Wild) She's excited to play Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD as well as completing the Wii U version of Breath of the Wild (she's a huge Zelda/Splatoon fan).

I have a Wii U 'pro controller' so it's a doddle playing the older Zelda's, we don't have to use the 'tablet'.

Yeah I definitely feel wii u was a retro oddity of the future pretty much from the start. £5 for a major first party nintendo release is nuts especially considering the largely cut down 3ds release was £15 on the neighboring shelf... The disk is near mint too, unceasingly I reckon for wii u second hand stock you're looking at enthusiasts only owning most of the games because the console never gained traction. The rest are probably in someone's attic or destroyed and next to worthless.

They also had mario kart 8 wii u for £8 and literally on flipside of the shelf MK8 Deluxe for... £42 :fp:

And the wii u servers are still online... And free to play

It's literally the same strawberry floating game.

There are times I have thought about picking up yooka for switch just to put it in its right place and send you good vibes lol. But I already own it on ps4.

Roaring into the Weekender... it's Burnout!

Burnout 2 was the first game that I bought for my Xbox, back in 2003. What a game! I almost exclusively focused on the Crash Junctions with that fix of pressing the pedal down, causing carnage and seeing the damage value rack up being so addictive. The game was just so slickly made, with great graphics and solid play.

I never played the third game, Takedown, so much; the graphics wee sharper but the Crash gameplay just didn't quite feel as good - for me, the additional "matrix"-styled movement just took something away from the visceral carnage. I'm conscious that many folk prefer this version, though. As for Revenge... I've still not tried it!

Those long hours spent playing Crash Junctions on Burnout 2 - battling my pal in continually trying to cause just a little more crash damage - will always be a standout memory of my OG Xbox days.

I've never owned Burnout, just played it at friends. The crash junctions were so much fun! I've been considering getting Paradise on Switch, how does it compare?

You also just reminded me about the Danger Zone games that were spiritual successors. Looks like they went on to make Dangerous Driving which completely passed me by, and a sequel is in development?

Definitely, Orange - the Crash Junction mode was ideal for local multiplayer (and would be great nowdays for online multiplayer!). Things can get pretty competitive as players discover how to create more cash damage! I've never played Paradise; the actual racing wasn't something that I got into as much on the earlier games and Paradise is openworld racing. I was going to buy it on Switch when it was on sale last week but - dang it! - I forgot to get it before the sale ended!

I have got Danger Zone on PS4 and it's... *okay*. It's made by some of the original developers but only one or two and it's very low budget. If it had more money thrown at it I think it could be great but, right now, it's not polished at all; the gameplay is fun but the presentation is bare bones.
