Here is a photo of some of my PS1 games , I found this on my hardrive its not a recent one but I know these are all in the same place

Image

Here is something a little unusual it is a Capcom CPS Jamma Board with the Pang 3 Module on it (the CPS was a bit like a Neo Geo MVS you have a main board then sort of carts/circuit boards that are just the game.) I dont have the Arcade machine to put this in any more but I held on to this and the Neo Geo MVS and about 8 Carts I had and a Bootleg Soccer game Jamma Board I used to use in the one I had.

That's a hefty collection Kerr! I've only ever owned 2 PS1 games, MGS (which I posted) and Klonoa Beach Volleyball, which I stupidly sold and now costs an absolute fortune. I'd really like to own that, the original Klonoa, Vib Ribbon, Crash Team Racing and Rayman 2. Those would complete my ideal small, strange PS1 collection

I know that one is modded but goddamn the pocket still looks incredibly modern and stylish. I have to begrudgingly admit it looks better than the color, which while only slightly different (shell colour aside) looks so much more like a child's toy because of the rounded out body shape.

I have what's in that shot then there's another shelf above that and then there's a large carboard box full. I have never owned Klona but I have played it and think its a darn good game. I own Resident Evil, RE2, RE3, RE directors cut, I think all the Final Fantasys which came out in Europe I think (pretty sure Tactics didn't hit europe, its my fave but I dont have it) I have Parasite Eve 2, Disc World 2, Xcom enemy unknown, Xcom Terror from the Deep, Vandal Hearts, Vagrant Story, Koudelka, Twisted Metal World Tour. I have a loose disc of Tronne Bonne and a loose disc of Hogs of war both of which are awesome and I wish were more than loose discs

Stuff id like that I dont have Discworld, Final Fantasy Tactics ermmmmm not sure really
I really need to actually look through what I have properly some time.

Despite never owning one I've very fond memories of the PS1. Played lots of Tekken and Resident Evil back in its early days with my neighbour. I used to batter him with Yoshimitsu and King.

Cheers guys for keeping this thread going! I've been swamped the last few weeks and last week I managed to burn myself quite badly on my neck, shoulder and chest which required an 8 hour A+E visit. Felt pretty crap the last week or so, finally feeling more human now though so should be around a bit more!

Keeping this alive with my NES box! My parents found this in their loft only a week or two ago and I just got it today - the actual NES is already here with me, so now they are reunited :toot:

I think this is in remarkably good condition all things considered! I enjoy seeing things like the Club Nintendo membership card, and I don't recall ever hearing about the Miracle Piano Teaching System before.

Dang, Orange... this rocks! I love checking out old game boxes and leaflets. I definitely don't recall seeing the NES Max controller before and it looks pretty neat.

Same here, I recognise the Advantage but not the Max - it looks pretty ahead of its time ergonomically for a NES controller!

Thanks for sharing. I never had a NES, but that packaging is giving me such Christmas day nostalgia. Just something about those old designs, reminds me of all the cool 80s toys I used to get.

I think it's how "busy" the box is that gives it that toy feel, compare it to something like the Wii box which is comparatively minimalist.

I also thought it was interesting that Bandai UK were the distributor (you can see their name on the warranty card) rather than Nintendo themselves. I'd also had it in my head that the silver Nintendo logo was from the Wii/DS era and the red was more classic, but you can clearly see both in use for the NES - I think I was getting confused with the one chosen for the official magazine specifically.

Yeah, I prefer a "busier" box, I think; the PS5 console box was amazingly dull. For me, this spills over to gaming mag covers, too. There has been a trend for minimalistic designs in recent years (and totally "clear" cover variants for subscribers) but I tend to prefer the packed, more exciting designs as per Japanese gaming mag covers. I want things to be fun!

Good spot, dude, and distribution and advertising were important factors in helping the Sega Master System gain such a strong foothold in the UK whilst Nintendo were very much second-best (in terms of sales) with the NES. Virgin-Mastertronic partnered with Sega and they did a terrific job in making the console readily available and with a wide range of games. Of course, in latter years THE took over distribution with Nintendo kit and things improved. Nowdays I *think* Nintendo distribute their kit themselves and they generally do pretty well; albeit I believe that (until the past few years of Switch success!) sales in the UK have lagged relative to other European countries such as France and Germany.

Just a few of the PS1 titles that I have. I don't have a huge collection of games these days and I may have put these up way back in the thread, but here they are again just in case you're interested.

Ah! Some lesser-seen PS1 titles there, Gemini. I can't bring Evil Zone to mind though I recall the fighting action of Tobal and I think Excalibur was some kinda 3D adventure?

Bonus points for including Demon's Souls in the pic  .

Evil Zone is an anime fighting game sat somewhere between Toshinden and Star Gladiator and with over the top special moves.

Tobal is a classic and you're right about Excalibur, which was released in 1997.

Visuals have come a long way since then!
