Portuguese tarts and German doughnuts trying to take the shine off the Great British Pancake on its special day. This isn't what we voted for Brexit for.

With slices of gammon to counteract the foreign name. Maple syrup is just about acceptable, as it's from a Commonwealth country.

With all due respect, I'd be delighted with being rimmed by 1960s Delia. With or without her friends.

You can get them from Tesco too.

You can also get part cooked frozen ones that you finish off in the oven so you can burn your tongue have them while they're still warm.

4 pancakes consume this evening, each more delicious than the last :datass:

Thin crepe ones obviously, none of that thick American muck :capnscotty:

We got one of those bottled pancake mixes (Chocolate Chip) but added a bit less water than the fill line called for and added extra chocolate chips. Then friend them with butter and got only 4 pancakes instead of 6 since we made them fairly thick. And then topped with Nutella.

Delicious.

Yes, and although you could easily assemble the same ingredients, it would never be the same as eating one in situ.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

I prefer Nigella's recipe as I get to dribble my cream all over the strawberries.

Tried American style ones, had 2 and thought another 2 would be fine…. Feeling overly full now

Prefer the thinner ones if I’m honest.

That's the ones. Everywhere does them there, and they're usually fresh out of the oven so lovely and crispy and warm. The hotel we were staying in put a few in our room on our first night along with a bottle of tawny port as a surprise. Sitting in bed eating those and drinking port :datass:
