Rubix's posts are exactly why I don't make many topics.

Er... Galaxy. Or something.

A topic is better than no topic, people worrying about making a detailed OP and committing to maintain the thread leads to no topic at all more than it leads to "higher quality" topics. If someone more enthusiastic comes along with a new thread, or wants to take over the old one, that's generally encouraged!

I don't think anyone should feel put off from making a topic about a game. If anything a quick, sparse OP lowers the effort needed so we should get more of them, and it means not worrying if the topic only gets a handful of replies because there wasn't as much effort "wasted" on a topic with little interest. On the plus side it's more engaging to browse a forum with lots of new threads popping up than reading one megathread where conversation can quickly move on and whole games are easily overlooked.

While you are right, I think “some” people are so desperate to be the one to create a topic they do it quicker and faster than anyone else who will take their time to create a good topic with more information.

I wouldn’t mind if the topic created passed on their OP to another forumite to look after.

I might be a minority of the way I feel but it’s my opinion.

Just to confirm I am only talking about Game Topics only, I don’t mind if its other topics.
