How much time do you spend playing videogames each week?

Here at GRcade, I imagine that many of us play videogames a fair bit. But let's try and be more accurate in our assessment.

Please vote for the selection that best fits your situation. Think about a rough average rather than, say, just last week.

Maybe you could jot down some comments about your game time, too. Is it more or less time than it used to be? Maybe you'd prefer to play a bit less... or more? Perhaps you spend time reading news about games or talking about them as well as playing them? Let's chat!

I don’t really keep track of how long I play but it’s definitely too much.

I found it pretty tough to pick a selection. I settled on 11 to 15 because I think that fits my actual playing time. I spend far more time on other things associated with videogames, though; mags, forums, news, price checking, Twitter, Twitch, searching for a PS5 (

)... lots more time.

In my hey day I could have easily state 46+ hours playing Eve-O, now, barely 11 to 12.

More than you'd think, less than I'd like

Couple of hours each morning, and a few every other evening, so around 11-15 I'd say.

If I get stuck in to something like fallout though, I can easily play for 10 just on a weekend.

6-10 I've put but probably nearer 6 than 10.

Work and baby doesn't allow for more than that really.

Not much at all these days. Couple of hours maybe, sometimes I don't game at all over the course of a week.

*edit* Just checked my last couple of weeks gaming time on PC. Somewhere closer to 6 hours a week it would seem. Seemed a lot less given how much I used to game. There have been weeks where I've not gamed at all though. That said I have been making an effort to look at the back catalogue.

I used to spend more time gaming but, over the past year, I've found myself watching more TV (Netflix, Disney+) where as I had barely watched any TV in the previous few years. I still hugely enjoy gaming, though.

I only get to play around 8-10 hours a week, sometimes it might be more if I can find the free time. When it was lockdown I was probably playing 15 hours a week or more

I went for 3-5 hours, but it could well be less. I don't have a huge amount of time for that kind of thing, and it really depends on what I'm feeling entertainment media wise in a particular week or month.

Around 14 hours a week usually, this can vary quite a lot depending on my physical state though, some days I can barely move my hands whereas othertimes I'll have a good day where I manage really well.

Really does depend on a couple of factors really,

- What else needs doing first before I feel I can sit down and enjoy a couple of hours playing a game?
- What games am I currently playing? Is if something I can dip in and out of? Or something that needs more concentration? If it needs more concentration I tend to put it off till I know I have the time to relax and get stuck in whereas stuff that doesn’t I can pick up as and when.
- What interesting topics are there to reply to on GRcade?

If I had to guess I’d say around 11 to 20 (I know it’s not an option but still :lol:

), I normally load Animal Crossing up for a couple of hours (if that) spread over 6 days now. Play a bit of other stuff on my days off from work when I can, or sometimes grab an hour in the evening, when a new Pokémon game comes out I tend to pour the hours in where I can though :shifty:

I can go a month without playing anything, then play three games back to back in a month for 90 hours +. I'm a momentum gamer, I guess. I think it averages out at one or two evenings a week, so 8-10 hours?

I went for 11-15 but that doesn't really include the near-permanent playing of Football Manager on Switch on days when I'm working from home. I have it sat in front of my laptop so I can do some work, then do some gaming - it's very distracting and massively impacts my productivity and motivation to work, but strawberry float it, I am what I am, someone has to be.

So that's probably 5 or 6 hours every other day just on FM, with other gaming on a Friday or Saturday evening once the wife is upstairs.

For me it varies, some days i can fit in a 1-2 hour session on Cities Skylines, whereas others (like today), i don't even have time to play any games.

So my overall play time each week can differ substantially.

I do, I play Minecraft.

On an average day, maybe up to an hour. Some days nothing, some days more, so I'd say between 6-10.

If something grabs me, it's a lot more than that. But a lot of weeks can go by without playing anything at all.

I think Gamepass has made me switch on most days recently, though.

Before the Series console and Gamepass, it could easily be months before I switched on any console for any length of time. Having it makes me switch on more and also play other consoles more too.

Though, perhaps that's a bit because Covid means there not much new on TV at the moment.

I put in a few hours a day and that roughly adds up to around 17-20 hours since sessions vary.
