Imagine moaning about gaming costs! Games should cost £225 now because I paid £70 for Turok! They're cheap! Just get another job, lol!

Historically, Time has been the limiting factor on my gaming hobby, so I have a mountain of a backlog. I know it isn't as easy as just working through said backlog, as you need to feel like playing a game similar to something you already own, but when funds are tight it is a bit of a blessing that I have numerous physical, downloaded, humblebundle and subscription games unplayed that I can delve into.

And even then, gaming is normally much better value for money than a night out or other activities that it can be easy to justify spending on gaming if it is in lieu of something else.

That's a principled line to take, man! Bravo! DLC is a toughie nowdays as so many games are expanded through the extra content.

Twenty-eight wraps was a great price for such a popular game. Hope you'r enjoying it, Drum!

Haha, yeah... but there was so much quality as well as quantity, Orange  .

I have taken to replying individually rather than combining responses into a few giant posts. Some folk said the "combined" ones were harder to respond to and edit.

Plus, in the legendary kinda okay "jawa asks" threads, I try to respond to as many answers as I can; just to make sure folk know that their views are being looked at :-).

I do like that idea of plenty of folk here - myself included - are now looking to play through some games from their backlog rather than just adding to it. Roonmastor, you're right, maybe this is a good thing... and all it took was for several massive global crisis to happen  .

Thankfully, this month, ps plus has a game I really want, so I will be downloading yakuza: like a dragon.

So... you may recall that, last week, I cancelled my FFXIV sub (after only just returning to the game for a month after a long break).

Well... I'm thinking about restarting it :shifty: . I enjoyed getting back into the game and, as I've cut back a lot on buying games, this feels like something I could continue. I can cancel the monthly sub any time if things get tight.

Not really, i'm not spending much on games tbh. I've got a far more crippling problem with JustEat right now. :slol:

...and i definitely cannot afford to be pumping a few hundred into justeat each month.

Although I am sometimes a melon with gaming purchases, thankfully I totally avoid JustEat, Deliveroo and all that; I've never used 'em.

Hope that you can cut back a bit, Proto!

It's a combination of working from home 24/7 and Greggs having a no-minimum spend offer.

Can't say it is, really. I don't buy new games, I have a pretty ridiculous 'backlog', and I occasionally pick up the odd game on sale on Steam - all of that is unchanged.

Ah! I can totally appreciate how that kinda thing could become a pattern!

It appears that you run a pretty strict ship and it's neat that you're sticking to that, Lotus.

As long as you don't mind being years behind everyone else, it works nicely  :datass:

Yes. But I have a ridiculously sized backlog so I'm good.

This seems to be a common theme! Are we even gaming in 2022 if we're not playing something from our backlog?

Same for me. Games are cheap, but you don't have as much time as you used to when you're not a teenager anymore.

Oh the days when I’d have hours to spend playing a game……how I miss them
