>>> ...What are your top six Switch games? <<<

The Switch has now been available for over eighteen months and it feels like a great time to discover what games you have been playing and enjoying the most in this period.

IGN has just updated their choice of top twenty-five Switch games if you need ideas to get your thinking underway.

So... let us know what your Switch Six is! Please feel free to add a wee bit of commentary for your choices if you wish to!

My Switch Six is...

1) The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Okay, okay... yeah, I haven't played it anything like as much as I should have! The scale and exploration is tremendous even though I'm not a fan of broken weaponary  .

2) Night in the Woods

Still in the running as my GOTY for 2018. A lovely story with genuine characters... this game really touched me  .

3) Starlink: Battle for Atlas

Oh! This is a rather cheeky - and perhaps indulgent - entry! I've only played it for two hours but it's the kinda game I already know that I'm going to enjoy; a fun mix of flying, shooting, exploring and collecting. I'm eager to play more!

4) Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

It *is* just a mild update of the U game, but when it's this good it has to be included in my top six.

5) Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle

This feels like a Nintendo game; Ubi did a superb job in creating a game packed with strategy and fun. A surprising treat!

6) Rocket League

I'm still terrible at this but I always enjoy it. it is becoming one of my favourite online games thanks to GRcade's weekly Rocket League Tuesday sessions!

Bubblers: Lego Worlds (clunky but fun exploration), Disgaea 5 Complete (an excellently presented strategic battler) and Captain Toad Treasure Tracker (a lovely puzzler albeit another U port).

1. Breath of the Wild:

Amazing game. Buff said

I will look at what else I have played proper. My memory is awful.

2. Mega Man 11

While it was the PC version I played I own the Switch version also. I have heard it runs the same (brilliantly) across all formats.

Anyway, Mega Man 11 really is Mega Man for the modern Era. It takes all that it had before and continues the tradition of difficult yet fun platforming.

3. Overcooked 2

Great local co-op fun. Played through with the missus and while easier than it's predecessor it's challenge lies in getting 3/4 stars and the DLC is also a little more difficult.

4. Picross S

Never really got into Picross before, but really enjoying it now I've given it more of a chance. Great fun and tricky.

5. Splatoon 2

It was hard to pick between this and MK8D, but Deluxe us a poet and this is a full new game with lots of new content. Great game, wish I was better at it.

Ah! This seems to be rather a "cult" favourite, Pedz... I've noticed that Jazzem and Dragon play it a lot, too :) .

The Doom Spoon wrote:...Paladins...

It's always nice to see an unusual title amongst the more popular games! I haven't heard Paladins spoken of too much here in GR.

You can post fewer games, Matt... a Tremendous Three or even a Terrific Two!

It's an excellent port. I played the Xbone version first then got the Switch version. Looks just as nice (they do some dynamic resolution wizardry to make it look great) , runs just as smooth and that's both docked and handheld. It actually looks a little better on that smaller screen with everything being a little more condensed.

Wait... 6 Switch games I thought 5.

We're Blaster Master Zero. It's like playing Blaster Master and not getting lost every 2 seconds.

Ok, my top 6 is based on the proviso that I haven't bought Stardew yet on Switch but if I had then it would definitely figure.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - Has slightly ropey performance in handheld mode, questionable female characters and some eccentric voice overs. But it also has incredible locations and probably the greatest rpg battle system ever created.its nowhere near the best game on Switch but I absolutely love it.

Mario Odyssey - I'm not really a Mario fan but this game is wonderful. So imaginative, amazing music, tight controls, brilliant controls. IMO it's the Switch's best game.

Zelda BOTW - There's a reason it's so highly praised. It's an incredibly ambitious game that works so very well.

Into the Breach - Until Wargroove arrives, this is as close as you're going to get to Advance Wars. Beautifully balanced and really challenging.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate - I've not put anywhere near enough time into this but it's essentially MH4U on Switch with loads of other content from earlier MH games.

Picross S - Another vote for this. It's essentially the same game as on 3DS but it's the one thing I constantly go back to. And the controls are absolutely perfect.

Can't speak for the Dig series of games but Steamworld Heist is awesome. I considered sticking it in my top 6. For me its definitely a top 10 game.

1. Mario Odyssey
2. Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle
3. Hollow Knight
4. Danmaku Unlimited
5. Octopath Traveller

FOR ME the worst game is Zelda: Breath of the Wild. A year now I've been trying to get into this game, and I just...can't! Sorry.
