When are you putting your Christmas decorations up?

I've noticed over the past week that some folk in my neck of the woods are starting to put up their Christmas decorations. One flat near me has put up a stunning array of lights on the front of the building!

How about you? Are they lights up already? Maybe you wait until mid-December? Or perhaps you're Christmas Eve kinda folks?

Yeah, I think I will put my decs up during this coming week. I don't have much (a three-feet tree with a few baubles!) but it looks okay :-).

Mid December for my decorations, which are quite minimal. Will be spending Christmas Day with the kids and their mum so I've no need to go full Santa's grotto.

Ours are up.

Will put them up on the 1st December, though I did buy a real mini Christmas tree from Sainsbury's today which is sat on the dining room table.

Mine usually go up around 10th December.

Ours are going up this weekend, except the new tree which was put up when it was bought earlier in the week. Dreaded outside ones tomorrow (weather meant to be better than today) though so I’ll be constantly muttering how much I despise Christmas lights under my breath for the duration

Mine have been up just under a week now .

Two weeks today, I don't like to get them up too early as it dilutes the joy!

I'll be getting them out of the loft tomorrow as I need to go up there anyway, but they're not going up until December, likely next weekend.

I put them up yesterday. It got well Christmassy when the snow started to fall outside and I put the classic seasonal album 'Sweet Bells' by Kate Rusby on. Slade and Wizzard can sod off: give me traditional carols any day of the week.

This year is actually the first year I've bought a Christmas Tree since I moved out of my parents house 11 years ago. Until this point I've always gone to stay with my parents for Christmas since I'd be alone otherwise, so I didn't see the point in having decorations.
This year is different though since my girlfriend is staying over for Christmas, so I've bought a tree and we're planning on putting it up this weekend.

A couple of days before is plenty. And down by the 29th. My house is too small to be even more cramped by Xmas nonsense.

I only put them up at all so I can judge people who don’t, and so we feel a bit less like the couple from National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.

I'm not. Not really feeling it this year so don't need the hassle. I feel better for it.
