I'm still staying positive. I think we'll see at least one more shrine done by the end of the week. :toot:

He managed a level a week for AYAMMM, so he can do it, it's just all down to him actually bothering to do it.

Seriously Jawa, if you sit down with it you can clear the plateau in 2 hours easily. It's not a difficult area in the slightest.

The title of this thread is very misleading.

I dunno. Your at your weakest and with the least amount of options available (which to me actually makes it one of the more interesting sections of the game). Specially if you are a noob player. Sure its missing some of the stronger enemies but I don't think you can make the super potions/meals yet and you have not had time to build up a stock of goods to abuse the strawberry float out of the combat/health.

I never finished it (need to restart and get further than 2 divine beasts) but the opening area was probably the most fun of what I played, it had decent guidance that nudged you along without being too "Go there do that" which I think I would have liked in the rest of the time, I'm not a massive fan of "there now go do" type games and that is a little too unstructured for my liking.

The Great Plateau is 'hard' in the sense of you're still learning what to do, but 'easy' in the sense that it's well tutorialised - as Errkal says, "go there, do that" - and lacks any big challenges once you've picked up the basic mechanics of the game.

Reminds me of a mate of mine who has the most horrendous taste in games, like almost to the point of "this must be a wind up". He bought a dreamcast... with 'who wants to be a millionaire' :fp: He then bought 'record of lodos war' a snooker game and then a Conan game 'because the film was good'

I actually think the "structure" of the great plateau is very similar to the main game, just on a smaller scale. Both give you four main points to go to and leave the parts in between up to the player.

There is a definite guided structure once you leave the plateau taking you through Dueling peaks -> Kakariko -> Hateno -> Zora - it's just one you can choose to ignore.

I think the Plateau is a great introduction area for the game - it does give you some closer direction than the rest of the game does but still offers a surprising amount of freedom to the player.

I like that straight away there were plenty of examples for how you could play around with powers like stasis etc.

Completed two shrines now. For the third one, I'm struggling with the cliff-climbing bit and I keep falling down. I've done this part before but I can't remember the correct path to take (i.e. so that you can take a breather and re-gain your stamina).

I just gotta run a couple of quick chores and then I'll return to it.

You can collect the rushrooms on the way up, cook up them down by the old man's house and use that to emergency regain stamina if you need to.

Or take a totally different route and avoid the cliff all together, by coming at it more gradually from the right.

Experiment a bit :)

Scope out the cliff first and plan your route up it before you start.
