The thing is it's no more outlandish and ridiculous as Jimmy Savile shagging dead bodies and using their eyeballs as jewellery.

You're right, but I fear that exact line gives carte blanche to nutters to make any old accusation they want, and when challenged, they'll say, "Well, you'd have said the same about Savile..."

I'm not calling you a nutter, obviously, and the claims... well... they sort of ring true if you consider the Ted Heath/Pie/Haut La Garenne accusations.

I know it's been mentioned on here before, but the one that really does chime with me is the Jill Dando stuff. That's the one bit that I really think we're going to hear more about, and which could have far bigger repercussions than anything Savile did.

Computers, anything with a hard drive, that kind of thing. It's usually what they go for. Printed materials are rare these days, but it's always worth pulling up a few floorboards, peeking in the cupboards below the stairs or going up into the attic. They'll be checking his online history, perhaps even carrying out full forensics on any laptops, etc.

It was always going to be a matter time before they came for Cliff. Seems as if someone who was a boy under the age of 16 in the 1980s has now made an allegation against him to the police. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-28790718 It'll be interesting to see how this goes. Depends, I guess, if any more come forward with similar allegations - this is usually how it all gets going (and almost certainly why the coppers invited the press along to the raid).

Still no word on where we are with the arrest of Paul Gambaccini? I think that could go either way, quite frankly, if there's any truth to the allegations against him. All depends on the ages of those involved, but the rozzers have been very quiet since he was first arrested. I wonder if the CPS are having doubts..?

I think it's telling that the press are talking about it. Plenty of articles about how Dando was set to reveal the paedo ring. I know it's safe territory as there's nobody to libel in that respect, but I think it's one of those stories that will gather momentum.

The fitting up of Barry George (and he was never compensated for his jail time) remains one of the worst things our justice system has done in recent years.

Yeah I'm curious to read up on the theories that she was apparently closing to blowing the whistle on the Savile stuff before being murdered. I know there's been a fair few rumours over the years about just what story she may well have been ready to expose before she was murdered or silenced.
