That poor bugger was minted to strawberry float.

He was a Radio 1 DJ in the 60's and started doing tv here, also he was a bit of an eccentric.

I've been digging around trying to find out about these rumours(i'm on further forward but there are also murmurings of necrophillea), I came across some stuff that went on about the actor that played Steptoe(Brimley or something similar) in Steptoe and son was a regular client of that Jersey kids home where the poor wee souls went through some horrendous treatment.

Lord McCalpine was apparently another deplorable chap,he took his abuse to extreme levels. Stickily kids in coffins, burying them alive until they were so scared they would do anything that sordid strawberry float wanted them to do.

Theres some extremely unlevel (hilly) carpets around, thats for sure.

Yes, it's a bit of a problem. They never really went away. Either someone will spill the beans, Liberace/Rock Hudson style, or we'll just never know, Luther Vandross style...

Thanks for defining "unlevel" for us. I had no idea what it meant.

Thanks for being an obnoxious turd. The reason I explained it was I unsure as to whether or not unlevel was the right word to use.

A bit of internetting and it appears Old Jimmy was keen to shag anything, pulse or not. This kind of backs up gossip I have previously heard about town (I live in Aylesbury, where Stoke Mandevile Hospital is), which is basically that JS is a sick pervert who use to prance about the hospital as if he owned the place and demanded this that and the other.

The internet is not kind to old Jimmy. Makes for an entertaining read though and makes you wonder a bit.

I don't think that is going to happen though. I think that is a whole can of worms that involves quite a few high powered people, if the internet is even vaguely correct.

There is an Irvine Welsh short story about a necrophilia-loving celebrity inspired by Jimmy Saville. Not proof of anything, but I think there's been stories and rumours around for years. Certainly came across as I nutter to me.

My mate was in the audience for Jim'll Fix It, and JS grabbed his hood and said "Your bags not full mate, cigar, cigar, cigar". Always stuck in my head!

He was named as one of the Radio Times "Top 40 most eccentric TV presenters of all time" in July 2004. A bachelor, Savile lived with his mother (whom he referred to as "The Duchess") and kept her bedroom and wardrobe exactly as it was when she died. Every year he had her clothes dry cleaned.

Wow, that's actually pretty sad :(

Jimmy Savile sexually abused us as girls, 10 women tell TV exposé

28 September 2012

A string of women have given shocking accounts of how they were allegedly sexually abused by Jimmy Savile when they were young girls, it was revealed today.

The assaults occurred in public places including hospitals, schools and the BBC studios where the children’s TV presenter recorded his family shows, it is claimed.

The explosive accusations, ranging from rape to indecency, are made by up to 10 women who claim that their lives have been “destroyed and devastated” by the late DJ, knighted in 1990. According to the allegations in a TV documentary screened next Wednesday, Savile abused girls as young as 13 at the height of his fame. The ITV programme will feature between five and 10 women claiming he was a sexual predator who took advantage of their vulnerablility.

A source who worked with the investigation team told the Standard the show contains “shocking material that really lifts the lid on the icon” and “goes beyond anybody’s comprehension” of what Savile was capable of. The flamboyant star, who died aged 84 last October, hosted Clunk Click, his 1970s BBC family show, and Jim’ll Fix It, which ran till the mid-Eighties. He also presented the first edition of Top of the Pops in 1964 and the last in 2006.

Some of those who contributed to the documentary are believed to be former pupils of Duncroft Approved School in Staines, Surrey, where Savile was a regular visitor. Two claimed that he took them for drives in his car and gave them money, cigarettes, records and places in the Clunk Click studio audience in return for “sexual favours”.

In 2007 Surrey Police received a complaint from a woman who said she was indecently assaulted by Savile at Duncroft in the Seventies. The allegation was investigated but no further action taken. The documentary — Exposure: The Other Side Of Jimmy — took 12 months to make and the final edit was being done today.

Former Surrey police officer and child protection expert Mark Williams-Thomas is fronting the programme. At least two of the alleged victims have waived their rights to anonymity. The source added: “These are women who were abused as children. They tell how it has destroyed and devastated their lives. It affects them to this day. Most of them have not told this story before. It is the first time they have spoken in detail about everything. It’s explosive stuff.”

The BBC had originally hoped to broadcast the allegations in a Newsnight report in December but it was dropped as it was “unable to substantiate” key facts. The corporation later screened two tribute programmes celebrating Savile’s lengthy BBC career.

Why did they all wait until he died before they came forward?

Edit: Beaten.

He was an untouchable British icon in life, which is ironic as he obviously found those girls to be quite touchable.
