Last night I witnessed a dinosaur royal rumble :datass:

That was great  . Nowhere near the first film but a good start, loved the nods to the original too

This man knows the score.

I really don't know why they added the whole divorce thing. It was shoehorned in for what, two short scenes and really didn't need to be there imo.

I think it was fine, it brought the brothers closer together and gave the older one a reason to going off the beaten track in the gyrosphere. Before that he was kind of disinterested in the park so he needed a reason to do that to cheer up his little brother.

Overall the character stuff was much better than I anticipated, but still wasn't great by any means. They basically just dropped everything character-related after the brothers reconciled in the back of ambulance.

Claire's "arc" was the best - going from corporate suit to getting her hands dirty to save her nephews. She was essentially the film's hero actually, saving Owen and releasing the T-Rex. The gag about the kids wanting to stay with Owen over Claire was a bit weird coming right after they just saw him get saved by their aunt.. Pratt's character among the worst in the film, just a hero archetype with enough of the actor's charm to carry it through.

Saw the film yesterday, really enjoyed it -

did anyone else find the people in the cinema started clapping when the Indominus Rex was killed? can't say I joined in but it was rather amusing

Jurassic World - People are stupid.

It was alright. I was more impressed by that chick running in high heels everywhere.

Saw it yesterday in my Jurassic Park jumper 8-)

At time ridiculous, but also magnificent. Loved seeing the park actually open and working etc.

I heard the last 30 mins was just action, and I thought i had worked out what it would be like from the adverts, but i was pretty wrong

Some of the character stuff was a bit forced etc, especially amusing was Pratt helping the old people at the end, just to prove he is SUCH A GREAT GUY

Loved the nods to the original. A few unanswered questions at the end but hey ho, trying to answer them would have made the film far too long (and probably dull).

And would have left them less for the next one. Aren't they trying to make Jurassic World a marvel-like film franchise?

I am very surprised at the box office success. I haven't seen the movie and I wasn't blown away by the trailer and it's a franchise with more bad movies than good movies.

Nostalgia factor I guess...

Also dinosaurs, because they're still amazing regardless of the added feathers in recent years...

The first was huge though. The second and third don't detract from that.

I enjoyed it far more than I ever expected too. Probably would give this a solid 8/10. Reading this discussion I never noticed even once that woman (claire) was running around in heels :s Or it just never occurred to me how impractical that was. Overall good film.

Saw it earlier in IMAX. Did nothing for me whatsoever. Very disappointed.

I saw this the other day and thought it was great. Had a big grin on my face from start to finish.

I've heard a few people describe it as 'ridiculous' and, while they're of course entitled to their opinion, I'm not sure what they were expecting from a film about a dinosaur theme park. ;) I would have been disappointed if it weren't a bit ridiculous, really.

(EDIT: Just realised this post looks a bit like it's aimed at Oblomov, it isn't! :) Just posting my thoughts.)

I thought this was pretty interesting. Which dinosaurs had feathers, followed by artists' depictions of a Velociraptor and a T. rex:
