The series is about U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens, a 19th century-style but modern-day officer based in Florida, who enforces his brand of justice to put a target on his back with criminals and puts him at odds with his bosses in the Marshal service. As a result, he gets reassigned to the district covering his rural Eastern Kentucky mining hometown of Harlan County.

Timothy Olyphant -
Nick Searcy
Jacob Pitts
Erica Tazel
Walton Goggins -

8-)

Really looking forward to this.

And yes, it does deserve its own thread as it looks like a damn fine show and I'd hate for it and any discussion related to it to be lost in the spam of USTVT.

Looks quite cool.

And yeah, should have it's own threat. USTVT moves way too fast to keep track of anything/follow it.

I thought this thread was about the debut album from US superstar Justin Timberlake.

I can't trust anyone that didn't like like The Shield, but luckily everyone else has also been giving it great reviews :D

Comparison of Olyphant to Dale Cooper = instantly sold, despite the fact that I already was.

It annoys me that the general public have a tainted opinion of him thanks to Die Hard and Hitman. :x

I liked this but it does seem a bit like an updated McCloud (more in attitude than anything).

Oh and it's good to see Walt Goggins on screen again.

I thought the first episode was superb! This definitely takes priority over Lost on Wednesdays 8-)

Timothy Olyphant was surprisingly different to his Deadwood character. I liked the way he had morals and says he wouldn't go into someone's house uninvited and then at the end he breaks into his ex's house in the middle of the night

It's a shame Walton Goggins finished the episode in an ambulance as he made for an excellent villain. He wasn't completely dead though so there's a good chance he may be back at some point, which will be awesome! 8-)

My only slight concern at the moment is that with the first episode wrapping up very neatly I hope the series doesn't become episodic. I think it won't, but if it does then it will be a slight turn-off for me.

Starts next month in the UK:-

Five has picked up the UK rights to Timothy Olyphant's drama Justified.

The Graham Yost-created series, which is based on the novels by Elmore Leonard, premiered Tuesday night on FX in the States.

The show, which also stars Nick Searcy, Erica Tazel and Jacob Pitts, centres on Deputy US Marshal Raylan Givens (Olyphant) and is set in Kentucky.

Five's Jeff Ford commented: "I’m delighted to announce this fantastic addition to the Five USA schedule. Olyphant is an excellent lead and has the same, compelling presence as Clint Eastwood in the classic Coogan’s Bluff.

"This exclusive acquisition bolsters the strong schedule and reaffirms that Five USA is the place to come for quality American drama on British TV."

The deal will see the 13-episode first season of Justified play out on Five USA from April.
