The Ava storyline feels like a poor woman's OITNB. The latest episode was good but I wasn't entirely convinced by the shooting story. Boyd was the highlight as ever.

I think there are two words that sum up today's episode, they would be Oh and Boy.

I dont know why, but that sounds strawberry floating incredible.

The scripting and characters are some of the most cliched I've ever seen and it's not like there's any decent action or babes to compensate for this (not that it would help). Still though, the reviews are very good so I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt. Did it take most of y'all ( :fp: ) a while to really get in to it?

The first season is the weakest by far - keep with it though as the later half of season one picks up quite a bit, stops with that crime of the week sort stuff which was beginning to drag. Season two is where it starts to get really good and the characters definitely become the show's strong point. Boyd Crowder is one of my favourite TV characters of all time, such a hero!

Glad I stuck with it. Just finished Season 1 and whilst the finale was a smidgen on the corny side, the last few episodes have been great. I love the parallel father-son relationships and Arlowe is an interesting character in particular. Doubt I'll continue with Season 2 immediately but I look forward to when I do.

Is it just me or is there a suggestion throughout the season that Wynne and his sidekick Mikey are gay together?

meh poor finale until the last 10 mins which was just set up for next season.

seemed to be no purpose or direction to this season other than "watch as boyd's situation takes a turn for the worse every ep!" and "daryl crowe is a massive banana split!"

ridiculous that eva had a more interesting storyline in the last 5 minutes of the season than during her entire time in prison.

knowing next season is the last does have me excited for it though, is it a full 13 ep run?

So the entire Ava gooseberry fool was a waste of time apart from the very end when something relevant to the rest of the show actually happened. Actually enjoyed the rest of the episode. Why on earth don't they give Tim more scenes? He pure awesome. Really can't wait for the final season, though. I want Boyd to get away!

It seems like the writers sat down in a room and said 'We either have to kill off Ava in prison or get her out and make her relevant again'. Ava helping to put Boyd behind bars while probably falling back in love with him and facing some tough choices is going to make the final season a good watch.

Michael Rapaport made a good baddie. So tall and tough. He could beat up anyone!

Was a fairly lacklustre finale compared to previous seasons but it was still good, wasn't overly interested in the Ava storyline but I suppose it sets up things for the final season.

Was actually quite surprised (but pleased) that Art survived.

I feel quite sad knowing season 6 is the last one

Due to a move I only recently finished Season 5. Thoughts:
Pretty dreadful season overall. The whole thing mostly felt like a retread of previous stroylines. The Crowe's had very little difference to the Crowthers and then the Bennetts, both who had more interesting central characters. No real storyline moved on from the end of Season 4 other then Art knowing about Raylan's involvement in the shooting and Ava's turn at the end.

For the most part this season reminded me of SOA in Ireland - which added very little overall to that shows narrative. I hope the last season can build a great 13 episodes to tie up loose ends and create an interesting cat-&-mouse between Boyd and Raylan (though I do feel that storyline has lost a lot of heat that it had from the earliest seasons).

I'd say that order is pretty spot on. Mags' Bennett still stands out as my favourite antagonist.
