I'm sad but that gives them time to make it a strawberry floating amazing end.

The missus and I have watched the first 5 episodes and it seems ok. Does it pick up soon though?

I really liked the first season, but general opinion is that it improves towards the end of S1 and onwards.
I don't think the shows changes too drastically, other than S1 was mainly standalone episodes and later seasons have much more of a continuing story.

Even if you don't think much of the first series you need to watch the second series. It really comes into it's own then.

I love S1, only seen it once when it aired though so maybe I'll have a different opinion now. So good to have this show back. For me, this along with Southland have been the best shows on tv for the past 5 years.

S4 was the best I think.

I'm on the first season. I'm finding it predictable in places, but that's no bad thing. The writing is so good that I often expect the characters to behave how they end up behaving.

For example, in ep 13 I knew that Boyd would become Raylan's unlikely ally after the massacre of his men.

Not feeling this season as much as previous ones so far.

I thought Michael Rapaport was an odd casting choice but i've actually been really impressed with him as a redneck. But this season doesn't seem to have much overall plot other than 'The Crowes move to Harlan', I'm sure it will get better but just seems a little bland overall so far this season.

It is very slow-moving, not that I consider that a bad thing. As long as that amazing dialogue keeps flowing I'll be happy. The long-coming Raylan/Boyd scene this week was just delightful. I'm kinda glad they've been keeping them apart the past 2 seasons because when they finally do meet, it's always a wonderful explosion of poetry. Besides, after what Art found out in this week's ep, I can see it ramping up soon. Dewey Crowe is such a fuck-up. :fp: And I'm loving Michael Rappaport, too.

I actually thought Tim and Boyd had the better scene than Raylan and Boyd this week, loved that they were playing scrabble when Raylan got back. Raylan seemed a little withdrawn.

Yeh it's definetely on the slow burn atm, which I don't mind if handled right, but so far not much of real substance has happened and for 4 episdoes in now, i'm abit concerned that I can't see where this season is heading.

The Haitian is the character that intrigues me the most this season.

I agree that this season has been a slower burn then the last in particular, however I feel that the shooting on the runway storyline and Boyd's story both have legs. The Crowes I'm less intrigued by, seemingly just another version of the Crowthers and Bennetts of earlier seasons; but without a standout character (e.g. Boyd, Mags).

One more episode of season 2 to go. This programme is so well-written.

Enjoying season 5 so far, season 4 was excellent and I think this show has matured well and found a great groove.
