There is the very real problem that corporations could engineer their seeds so that they become sterile after one or two generations, thereby forcing the poor farmers to cough up for some more.

The issue is that simply bombarding Africa with GM foods will simply make them dependant on costly, copyrighted products (which is what GM foods are) to feed themselves as opposed to support for their free, natural versions. Which do you think is more open to potential exploitation/
