I thought about dropping the difficulty, but resisted. Taro as the 1st proper boss and Toshi I spent at least 30 mins on, maybe more. But that is where the combat system works, it’s hard, but it’s fair and relies on you being good and improving.

It really did need to do more to help you parry properly though.

27th September. It'll be one year anniversary and they will add a free update.

I guess I can continue the story in a new game plus with my current skills. It means I can finish it on the hard difficulty.

Curious to see what this studio is up to. Kena was great (apart from the last bosses which were a tad too difficult for my 40 year old reflexes)

I hope they're making an expanded sequel. The story was good but it felt a bit flat for me because there was no real world building.

A sequel with proper populated villages etc would be amazing.

I thought it was a beautiful and fun and enjoyable experience. The combat was good (tough). Far better than most 3D action adventure games I can remember… e.g. the gunk, omno. I mean it was a mix of Arkham and journey for me. It’s how much I loved it.

Just started this and it's lovely. The world is absolutely beautiful and a joy to explore. The combat is starting to open up too but one thing, am I rubbish or are some of the bosses really hard? I'm playing on the medium difficulty.

I seem to remember reviews at the time mentioning how hard some of the combat could be.

Yep. Surprisingly tricky at points despite looking like a kids game. There was a nice set of mechanics to it, that are deeper than they first appear.

This game is me walking round in awe of how pretty it is, in between fits of rage from fighting each boss. It's a bit of a rollercoaster

OK, good. Now seeing as we’ve had to wait three years, put it in Game Pass, please.

I never finished it because of one of those bosses (it then left PS Plus Extra anyway), though I believe it is possible to crash the difficulty in the menus to 'I'm foooookin' useless me, help a brother out' mode.

This seems destined for Game Pass. Hope so anyway, I always quite fancied the look of it, but not enough to buy it.

It's very good. Like a ps2 era platform game ala jak and daxter, but with some beautiful visuals. The last boss is a total banana split though and I gave up trying to beat it.

I respect your objectivity; not being able to beat the final boss of a game would absolutely ruin it for me.

I could beat it, I just wasn't in the mood for that kind of challenege by the end of it. My Mrs managed to do it ok (it was her game).

I played an hour or so of this a while back and found it enjoyable enough but never went back for some reason.

Should probably give it another go
