Any videogame allows some possibility of roleplay, and if I want to disable the cops in GTA and go on a mad rampage of all humans and animals with a minigun, I'm well within my right to do so.

If I was to do the same thing in real life, it would mean I've got a massive load of money and wouldn't bother as I'd be busy enjoying the delights of New Zealand.

Games aren't real so I have no issue with 'killng' anything in them, human, animal or otherwise.

I don't particularly like games to be overly gory though.

I don't really see the problem (bar Devlins Dog Culling) You shoot people and various other things all the time. It's also a game, I wouldn't go around shooting animals in real life.

That makes it sound like you would shoot people in real life.

Depends on the game, if killing an animal serves no purpose then I generally don’t, if it’s needed for upgrading items then I’ll kill animals in games with no issue.

I still feel bad for slaughtering a cow in Resi 4, however I didn't feel quite as bad kniffing chickens to death to obtain eggs (which, for some reason, you can also get from snakes). Thus concludes my contribution to this thread.

Also how are we supposed to know if the animal is evil or not? What if it attacks you first?

Also do anthropomorphic NPCs count? A lot of villains in games are animals indeed.

So many questions, better ask a vegan.

I guess you get eggs from chickens and snakes in Resi 4 because both lay eggs.

Well I haven't shot a horse in RDR2 by mistake.

But I did punch one by mistake. And I felt bad.

Then I shot the horse as it ran away from the mission area and I was trying to get on it. I died. I spawned. I shot him. And off I go to the stables for a new horse.

Kidding aside, I only kill most of the animals that are trying to kill me. My dogs kill count in RE2 must be in double figures.

Yeah.. but not giant, goose-sized eggs (the snake I mean).

I think the idea was more that snakes very typically eat bird eggs (and other reptile eggs) in the wild. Or Leon could just eat the snake, clearly isn't as man as Big Boss.

I tend to avoid killing animals unless they attacking me, but I really did enjoy the hunting parts of Red Dead 2.
