Some places are saying he's in a vegetative state after a botched heart surgery.

Some are saying he's ok, but the Chinese just dispatched a team of doctors to check on him it seems...

If he has kicked the bucket, while unlikely, it could lead to a better situation for the normal people of North Korea where they depose their commie overlords. Sadly it'll probably lead to just more death as whoever takes over next (his sister is the strongest contender from his family) consolidates their power. China probably wouldn't be too keen on a revolution either so there will be strong support from them to maintain the status quo.

You have to assume that guy was the most cheery, healthiest, well fed member of staff at the factory as well.
