Kingdom Hearts Chain Of Memories PS2 rumours.

A tipster who chooses to remain anonymous dropped us a line to let us in on a juicy little tidbit from the GameStop Expo in Las Vegas. According to the source, yesterday during Square Enix's presentation, mention was made of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories for the PS2.

Once Square-Enix was up, there was a small mention of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. When asked if it was the one that was included with Final Mix II in Japan, they confirmed it with a nod. There hasn't been any official announcement through Square, just a small mention...

Of course until we get an official announcement this is still firmly in the realm of rumor, but combined with the rumors that ran rampant back in July about Square Enix auditioning an English voice cast, there could very well be some truth behind it. With a hungry fanbase desperate for anything Kingdom Hearts related, it would be silly for this not to happen.

Not really, to be honest. I'd buy it, without a doubt (assuming they don't try and sell it for £40, or something mental like that).

I played, loved, and completed Chain of Memories on the GBA, so it wouldn't really have the same impact anymore. The story ties together KH1 and 2, and the little revelations which set up KH2 were great, but the PS2 version would have to sell on it's (not exactly the best) combat system since everyone who would play COM has already finished KH2 anyway. They should have released this soon after the original Japanese release, but it's nice of them to get it out late, rather than never.

I've had the GBA version for a few years now, but never actually started it. I'm waiting until I finish the first game on PS2, but I never seem to get around to playing that either.

I would love to play the PS2 version of this game. I remember when they announced it for Japan and I wished they would release it here.

I have played through the GBA version but could not beat Riku at the end.

Won't mind if this is indeed true, but I can always grab GBA version if I want to play it.
I wasn't really impressed with the combat, but I'll be willing to give it another chance if I got my own GBA game, or if this is true, will be getting PS2 version then.

Kingdom Hearts GBA Hits PS2 in December

Square Enix announced today that Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, the Disney-filled RPG originally released on Game Boy Advance, will see an updated release for PlayStation 2 on December 2.

Originally developed by Jupiter, the card-based hack-and-slash Game Boy Advance title bridged the gap between the first two Kingdom Hearts games. The Square Enix-developed PlayStation 2 version is a 3D remake that has been out in Japan for some time.

Most squeenix games do have a huge difficulty spike at the end, which always annoys me.

I still haven't finished CoM, so I might give this a go. Any idea of a price point?
