well in just under a month kirby's first switch game is out so lets have a thread for it

Image

star allies is your standard kirby platformer and sees the return of the helpers from kirby's fun pack/super star ultra and combo abilities from kirby 64

four new copy abilities are known, artist (different from paint) fight with a paint brush and bring paintings to life, spider traps enemies in webbing, staff which is staff fighting and festival a move that makes all friends on screen dance damaging all enemies on screen more powerful the more friends there are

The dance thing sounds a bit mj's moonwalker to me, but you can't beat a bit of Kirby

Looking forward to it, but I don;t think it'll be as good as Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot.

I think the last Kirby game I played was Kirby's Dream Land.

I may well pick this up though, it looks very cute and I need a new fix of Nintendo-y magic on my Switch.

I've never really liked Kirby and this doesn't look like it'll change my opinion. Hopefully the rest of you enjoy it though!

I haven't looked too closely at the previews for this game but, from my limited viewing, it seems to be a multi-player platformer similar to Kirby's Adventure Wii... which was terrific fun! I played that for a few hours with my nephews and it was excellent; looked great for a Wii title, too.

I won't be getting this at launch but it's the kinda thing I may pick up further down the line if it gained a discount.

Played through the demo, looks lovely and the co-op is fun even in single player thanks to smart AI...but yeah, as expected 30fps is really rough for a side scrolling platformer :/ It's such a downgrade from every other Kirby game I've played (barring Crystal Shards, but then N64 innit), feels so treacley in comparison.

Did get a kick out of defeated Dedede having the same face plant animation from DL1 though

The demo was fun, it's that same great Kirby gameplay. But the ai companions make the game even more easy that it is and 30fps for a platforms feels rough.
