Hopefully the difficulty picks up as you go along as it’s pretty easy but it looks lovely so will keep my pre-order with Amazon

I didn't really have any problems with the framerate (which bodes well for trying out Ratchet and Clank which I avoided due to its 30FPS target) but I found it a bit easy, even though I played the harder castle stage. Kirby games have traditionally geared their difficulty towards finding hidden secrets and I loved Rainbow Paintbrush because I tried to uncover as much as possible so I'm looking forward to playing the full game.

I wasn't planning to pick it up at launch as I'm juggling Xenoblade and Battlefront II but I may well buy it as my EA Access trial for the latter runs out soon.

Kirby games are generally easy and the challenge is in getting 100%. Finding all the gold pieces, getting the best rank on various minigames, beating the Arena and the True Arena, etc. Where the latter often has the real ending to the game.

I only realised this late last year that you actually have to beat Kirby's Return to Dreamland twice for the real ending. The only difference in Extra mode is you have less health so I stopped caring after the first few worlds. It was only when I revisited the game with my other half that I realised the last 2 bosses of the game add new content.

So yeah, when it comes to Kirby, try and be thorough.

I hope there's plenty of post game content like in Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot, the extra mini games and playing as Meta Knight and Dedede was great touches that kept me coming back a fair bit.

Reviews are coming in. IGN said it's the best Kirby game ever. Also said it's a smooth 60 fps, I could have sworn it was confirmed at 30fps.

Hopefully my Amazon copy arrives on Saturday and I can spend the day with Kirby.

Pretty sure that's a blunder on their behalf, multiple sources (including the demo itself) make it clear the gameplay runs at 30 while menus are 60.

Just placed my order for this today. Kirby has never let me down in recent years, although the bonus modes in Star Allies look kinda underwhelming.

Been playing the demo again today and it is bursting with charm. Would love a Switch HD Kirby collection featuring every game he has appeared in.

Oh for real? I noticed the 30fps of the demo immediately. Why the strawberry float is it not at 60? It would have looked amazing.

Currently at 73 on Metacritic compared to Triple Deluxe's 80 and Robobot's 81. Still going to get it cause Kirby, so hopefully it won't be too disappointing.

Didn’t enjoy this at all and I loved the first 3DS game. No idea why they couldn’t get this running at 60fps, feels even slower and plodding than normal.

Hot pass.

I have to echo the other comments about the framerate. I really don't understand why this doesn't run at 60fps. It doesn't feel like a complex or taxing game.

Most importantly though - it's still really fun.

£40 in Smyths and Tesco which is reasonable, may got for it as I've enjoyed his previous games, but this game just screams to me it's a filler game just to pad out the Switch release till the good stuff comes.

Bloody Amazon said it's despatched but not coming until Monday. It's a good thing I've got about 5 other things to play.

I played the demo and it seems a great game to play with my 4 year old but christ £50 for the digital download!

I swear to god I got Kirby's Dreamland for £25 notes when it came out as I remember spending my birthday money on it. Mentally I'm not prepared to spend over £25 for a Kirby game.

Kirby's Dream Land launched in 1992. Twenty-five wraps at that time is roughly equivalent to fifty-one quid today... :shifty: .

But, yeah, I'm not gonna spend forty or fifty quid on it either :-) .
