Yeah I would make a proper thread for it but I know it'll die by the end of the week so I won't bother. Got my PS4 copy coming this week :D

The extra week for the Switch version is going to be hard to endure. :(

Reviews locked til tomorrow as they want reviews to play with the day 1 patch. Patch culture is terrible, a game should be playable in a finished state when reviewers get it.

Hopefully it doesn't hurt the game as it looks perfect.

45 minutes done before work.

It's just like the DD Castlevanias combined with SOTN. Oh it's so good. Just pretty and grindy and now each enemy can drop a shard that is unique and can be powered up.

Wish I had a few weeks off work to just spend exploring this.

Also it looks stunning and the music is as good as I hoped it would be. Biggest surprise so far is how much the different weapons impact combat, range, speed and damage.

Played a bit of this after nightshift, but going to call it and head to bed. Got up to the first boss fight in the castle and it feels like a good Castlevania game. The boss itself was pretty agile and required good movement, so I can already see how nonsense things can probably get when you have the souls to play around with.

I'll echo that maybe it's a bit grindy to get some souls, but I'll save final judgement until a few more hours in when I actually start farming things. I've already found a shard I'm going to want multiple of, so we'll see when I get round to that.

Great advert. Very attractive DLC options which I might actually use!

I know it's this day 1 patch nonsense delaying the review embargo, but when should we expect to see some scores?

Loads of Impressions and thoughts on twitter and YouTube. Scores should be out by the end of the week.

Put another hour into it and got to the main world area. It's tough but fair and the music combined with the art style is perfect.

Got my PS4 copy, will give it a bash when I get home tonight 8-) Super hyped for it and can't wait for the DLC and additional KS goodies over the coming months.

Oh, and whilst I think it's a massive knob, the usually-critical Jim Sterling loves it and says it somehow lives up to the hype. So that's nice.

I am in love with this game

Wish you could set a default zoom to the map though, I'm having to zoom in everytime I want to use it.

Finished the first level. I'm a little bit tepid on it although I need to play more. The free nes style game they put out was better IMO.

Give it time it opens up into something amazing.

The best thing is when you upgrade the shard attacks the animation changes accordingly. So my mid range swipe is now half a screen swipe and looks epic.

Got my first familiar too.

And it's broken the game.....

So after beating the double dragon head boss there is a chest with an item needed to move forward. The chest was already open..... So no item for me and 8 hours of playtime lost until it's patched.

How a game can release with a problem like this is beyond me. Happening to other people too as I've checked YouTube.

Played a bit more it's grown on me. Especially as I'm passed the more hand holdy stuff. Got killed and lost a bunch of progress though which is annoying.

Apparently everyone is effected by the bug. So if your system is downloading it then click pause and wait for the next patch update instead.
