Koji Igarashi's Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

So Koji Igarashi (Castlevania Symphony of the Night and pretty much every 2D castlevania after it) has decided to do a Keiji Inafune and create a kickstarter successor to the game series that he is most famous for making.
He is asking for $500,000. I can see a lot of people being interested in a new 2D metroidvania.
It's expensive as far as kickstarters go ($28 for digital download) so what you really need to ask yourself is how badly you want more of this kind of game. Would have liked a Wii U version but I can see why it is XBO/PS4/PC/Mac.
Oh and if they get $850,000 they will hire David Hayter to do voice work.

I think the kickstarter will be over by then.

No Kojima artwork makes me sad- she's part of the package when it come to this for me, and any 2d game won't be the same without her style for the portraits and stuff. I'd still consider it without her if the concept art didn't look so...guff.

I don't think you should back it at all as it's going to reach its target anyway, but I think it's pretty safe to say it's going to be exactly like all his other Castlevania games.

Indeed. I'm not particularly arsed about a physical copy and if it turns out to be as good as his previous games I could probably get it cheaper with a PSN credit deal.

Just noticed they've reached the target already. Another game I'm not really sure belongs on Kickstarter in the first place.

I was just going to make a thread about this. The initial target has been hit already which is pretty impressive in the worlds of Alucard "I'm interested in this" :D

I can't work out if the digital copy comes with the swordwhip. It's only mentioned as part of the physical version, listed as backer-only content. We're still backers, even if we just go for the digital copy right?

I just read about this today as well. Looks like it's now hit over 1.2 million dollars.

I'm more worried about how it will look. I want it to look like SOTN, but I fear it will look like a hi-res flash game like the concept art indicated.

Do we get Keifer Sutherland now then?

How harsh would that be to do it to the guy again. I remember watching him on up at noon and he was pretty sure he was going to be doing the voice work for MGS5. I'm still confused why they even got keifer sutherland in for it.

According to the leaked Konami info (if true) Keifer was Roped in by Konami to further the idea of an MGS movie, and to set him up to play him- but also that Hayter is still in the game playing Solid Snake.

$4,000,000 is pretty much guaranteed going by the way the KS has been going so far, and with the final few day pledge spikes...the rest, hopefully, but nowhere near as certain.
