PS4 is almost problem free apart from rare slow down. It's such a shame it wasn't held back until Christmas and released in a finished state. The game should be game of the year for metroidvania fans but instead it was released and then broken with a patch then fixed again. It's ok if it's early access but not for a full price game. It's only because the game itself is so good that I still play it.

I'm enjoying the game, but it is really strawberry floating obstructive at times.

I couldn't figure out where to go after the Bloodless boss fight, had to look it up online. I never would have got that.

Ditched the game. It completely gooseberry fool itself after the Hall of Termination. Last few play sessions with felt like a strawberry floating chore, and I was just getting annoyed at it more and more. Stupid design choices, buggy as strawberry float too (it completely crashed my Xbox at one point).

I don't get the love for it at all.

Finished this in about 10 days, 100% complete on PC XGP.

What a game.

Loved it from start to finish. And that soundtrack.

EDIT: Sounds like there's a lot of problems on the console versions. PC version was flawless.

PS4 had a little slow down in a couple of places, but was more or less fine, too.

I don't remember having much trouble. When attacking hit it in the mouth vagina in the side view and when it's in the background dodge it's attacks and smash it in the face. I always tend to go for fast swords as while they tend to not do as much damage per hit I find the attacks so fast that they appear to do higher DPS.

Go back and grind one of the bad guys with the mace. Leave and re enter the screen until you've got 10 drops and maxed out the power.

For the boss, jump and hit the face and try to avoid damage if possible. Grind a bit to get some health drops too.

Absolutely loving this at the moment.

I'm on about 65% map completion and am just having such a good time with it. It's really hit the spot in terms of the Metroidvania itch I had been feeling for a while and I kind of want it to just go on forever at this point!

Got what I assume is the "bad ending" last night when I killed Gebel on first discovering him - I'm guessing with more exploration I will discover the real ending.

The combat and movement is really satisfying which means that just exploring is always a joy and never a chore. I'm favouring boots as my main weapon at the moment as I love the rapid kick attacks that you can do compared to the slower weapons, although the most powerful boots I've found to date are pretty weak compared to many of the swords and other kit that I'm turning up.

Spent some time farming a few shards and upgrading their ranks last night and now I've got some ludicrously overpowered attacks. Riga Storӕma is just crazy when you power it up!

In about the same stage as you and loving the game as well, it's properly awesome.

Had to make my own review as I am enjoying the game so much, all of you are already playing it but figured youd be the people who would like it most on here lol

I'm slightly torn on the shard mechanic of this now. I love that there are so many of them and it's fun finding new ones to try out, but the upgrade mechanic can very easily break things.

I have almost fully upgraded a few shards now like Riga Storӕma and True Arrow and it just makes things trivially easy at times. Walk in room > "RIGA STORAEMA!!!" > Everyone dies. Even bosses are getting a bit pathetic now as a result. Last night I took on Mirror/double Miriam and Orobas and beat both first time with barely a scratch!

Also hiding essential skill shards behind random drops is bullshit!

Despite all that I'm still loving it!

I finished my first playthrough somehow missing that collecting multiple shards of the same type increased their power!

On hard difficulty, the spinning sword shard was my favourite. I'd just whip it out and deal so much damage so quickly. I found the game a lot harder on the higher difficulties so it was really satisfying maxing out the shards and getting some revenge.

Yeah I'm quite keen to try it again on a harder difficulty, crafting and upgrading shards feels like it will really be key then.

Loving the invert mechanic as well, when I got it I thought "this changes everything!" Going to have to explore everywhere again now to see where I can go with it!

Love the shard mechanic and it's the reason why Dawn of Sorrow is my favourite Castlevania as it has the same mechanic, but it's souls not shards.

Yeah it's a great addition to the game, just think it could have done with a bit more balancing!

Another nice session on this last night, was getting a bit lost/frustrated as none of my skills seemed to allow me past any of the remaining obstacles but then found some gear that allowed me to get to the Oriental Sorcery Lab. Solid Snake turned up to bother me again so I let him feel the full power of my upgraded shards.

Still only on about 80% map completion so there's got to be another few places to find yet.

I'm around 80% myself, don't have the millionaire's key but that's the only place I can figure I haven't been really, still loving it.

I think I know where you both need to go for a good chunk of the remaining map %, just not sure if you want a clue or not

I ended up seeing what I needed to do before I played it so didn’t hit a roadblock.

I'd happily take a clue
