Wish I had opted for the PC version with how bad people are saying the Switch port gets later in the game.

I’d forgotten until it arrived today that backers got an extra sleeve to go round the game case :fp: not really sure why they couldn’t just arrive at the same time but at least everything is here now.

Was tempted to get this on Switch as that's my preferred platform these days but it sounds like a really rough port. :dread:

It does sound like its far from ideal, I’m conflicted whether to wait a couple more weeks and hope some of the performance issues get patched? I don’t mind it not looking as nice as that was probably a given anyway but I don’t like the sound of some areas dropping to low fps and that should be able to be solved via patching.

Keep seeing the price for this on PC dropping. £20 today. Pretty tempted since I've enjoyed my fair share of Metroidvania (mainly Igavania) and have heard very good things about it, but will probably hold off since I have so many other games to play at the moment.

Got the switch version today and haven't had any issues yet, none that I've noticed any way. Got past the first boss and a little way through the second area and enjoying it so far. I haven't got another console version to compare to but it looks rather nice on Switch taken on its own merits.

It's maybe a little low res (the main character is a little blurry) but nothing that's spoiling my enjoyment of the game thus far.

Still waiting on my Switch copy from Kickstarter. Good to hear they are going to address the Switch port.

This is where I'm at. It's still good fun, multiple deaths on the first boss aside. :( And yep, they appear to be patching that performance.

I watched some comparison videos between Switch and PS4 and it did look pretty bad but taken in isolation it's fine. Some bits on the video looked worse than they did in game. Like the lack of rain/sea washing down the side of the outside of the ship and over the floor - it is there on Switch but scaled back whereas on the video it looked non existent.

Some updates would be nice.

First boss was solid at first. I ended up going outside near the boss and constantly killing the big enemy on the deck until I'd levelled up a few times, it respawned each time you switched rooms and went back so I abused it. Got a new shard from it too.

99.60% done. All enemies found and killed. Still chasing some shards and grinding. Currently level 60 I think.

One area late game has a perfect place to grind, get 5k XP in less than a minute. Plus loads of shards and rare items.

It's the most playable I've played in years. The simplest takes are brilliant fun and movement is so smooth as more equipment and shards are unlocked.

Do we have patch notes for anything?

Seeing quite a few people say the Switch version has long loading screens, quite a lot of input lag and just quite a lot of small issues such as crashing, items getting stuck mid air etc, anyone else on Switch experienced any of these? If the issues are as bad as I’m reading I think I will leave it till most have been patched out which hopefully won’t take them long to sort the majority of them out.

Or is the Switch version perfectly playable and people are overreacting slightly?

I've not seen any crashing, I've not had any issues with input lag, and the loadings screens are... well they're noticeable but not game-ruining. Think it's largely an overreaction.

I'm into the castle proper now and slicing up some demons. There are still a good few cases where I'm just relying on out-damaging the larger enemies blow-for-blow, mind.

At level 80 something. Just grinding out the last few levels and trying to find more parts for making things.

Got two XP rings equipped and getting about 10k XP in 30 seconds of grinding.

Made a rainbow scarf, unlocked more shards and still doing some fetch quests for NPCs.

I didn't know that if you max the rank of a passive shard (yellow ones) that it becomes a permanent one and appears on the right of your shard screen. So it's always on. Even if not equipped. Very useful for the one that shows secrets and if you do it with all of them then the game gets a lot easier.

To upgrade speak to the guy at the village and give him the required things to boost each shard.

Bought this on PC, sounds like I made the right choice.

It's definitely "one of those". Feels like I've played it before when obviously I haven't. No bad thing, it's like the gaming equivalent of comfort food.

If you have any experience of Iga from his previous games I don't see how you can be disappointed :)

Didn't play much this last week but a couple more hours last night. Still loving it. About 35% map completion now; just got the double jump and killed the twin dragon boss

Time to explore further :datass:

You know that red demon thing that eats you and curses you, just before the cat demon?

She can get stuffed.
