Is that the fire column spell?

That thing is so incredibly broken. You can literally clear screens with it once you upgrade it and it costs nothing to cast.

Literally dismantles large enemies.

Can't say I'm a fan of the grinding though. Kills the pacing a little bit for me. Just makes the game more arbitrarily difficult as well. I've given up on the last boss because I'm not prepared to grind.

I didn't really grind on the last boss, I just got a nice fast sword and equipped gooseberry fool that made my attacks more powerful, though I was taking about 200+ damage per hit. I was doing about 140-ish (maybe) per hit myself. And just got better and not being hit. To the point we're I was taking no hits in phase 1.

I was only hitting like 70ish per hit, and that was with a great sword.

I never really understood a good way of increasing your attack other than grinding out specialist shard upgrades/equipment. Which when the combat is so basic I never really liked the idea of.

strawberry float great swords. Yeah they do decent damage but are slow. I reckon DPS wise they aren't all that.

I used mostly fast swords that did high damage too.i can't remember the name of the sword I used in the end. I think it may have been from the KILL EM ALL DEAD woman.

That’s the one thing I’ve not found really, any really decent gear. Read there’s a good sword that’s a drop from an enemy in the cathedral type area, that while not high in damage is very quick at dealing damage, so might have to go and grab that as currently my highest weapon damage wise is a stupidly slow great sword. Reckon I’ll have to go and get that fire column spell as well, would substitute welcoming party quite well for enemies further away.

No idea, but the Sword I had was really good, and the other gear sacrificed defence for more attack.

When I tried the boss before the gear in my previous post I used the Zangetsuto and normal gear that didn't sacrifice my defence for attack and that was doing ~80 damage.

Ok I’m really starting to get into this now, farmed that fire spell to get 9 of them (not upped its rank yet though) and I’m currently trying to get 4 of the Rhava Bural swords so I can craft its upgrade later on. Reckon as that seems a really good weapon I’ll farm sword expertise shards to up its power more. Not really progressed much story wise in the hour I’ve been on it though

Wasn’t aware there was a bad/fake ending to this,

I thought I’d come across Gebal just a bit too soon and he also went down surprisingly easily.... Then got a game over, only just hit 51% map completion so there’s still plenty to explore if I want, take it you don’t need to the full 100% to get the proper ending though?

Just beat the female vampire in the cathedral anyway, now off to get a shard so I can swim properly underwater, not got it yet but hoping its like the double jump one and equipped all the time.

yeah I had to try it a few times before I could beat her, not helped by the fact she fully restores herself halfway through mind  just presumed she was a vampire with the blood obsessions.

I’ll probably put another couple of hours in this evening and see if I can work out how to get the true ending, I know there’s a few new areas I’m yet to visit (keep looking at a fully completed map for a bit of guidance when I need it rather than a full walkthrough) so those will be first on my list.

Slowly getting toward the last area, just need to slash the two red moons to open it up, reckon I’m going to grind for a bit to level up before attempting the last boss, only level 42 but might get up to 50? I’ll be grinding near the save room just to be safe.

Now completed this :toot: So I’ll stop spamming the thread with my updates now!

Weird experience overall, went from not enjoying it much at the start to loving it by the end! Still feel the Switch version could have been a lot better than what we ended up with performance wise but it’s still playable and enjoyable for the most part, it’ll be good to go back and play it again (even if just to beat the final boss again and explore various areas) when it’s been fully patched to see how it compares.

Ended up on just under 99% map completion as well, couple of optional boss rooms and a few that I could easily get by dimension shifting but no plans to currently do so. I’ll definitely be interested if any future games in the series, if indeed they make it into a series? Hopefully any futures games will perform a lot better at the start than this did though.

The performance on the Xbox One version of this is ass. It's a cool game, it's such a shame.

Switch patch has been delayed again to November time, becoming beyond a joke at this point.

Yeah it’s a shame, didn’t it sell really well on the Switch compared to the other platforms as well?

I don't know what the PS4 version is like, but this game seems poorly optimised on Xbox and Switch. It isn't doing much in terms of graphics, it's dropping frames like a mad thing at times. Also has this brief moment sometimes where the game freezes on killing an enemy. It's really annoying.

It's good despite this. Don't get me wrong. Just got the double jump.
