I would pay good money for Sleeping Dogs (and the Saints Row) games on Switch

It’s not aged as well as you think. The ‘definitive edition’ I played fairly recently was a blurry mess with fairly shonky mechanics and bland missions. Story and driving were alright though.

It scratches that GTA itch, but it's not gooseberry fool.

I played it like a year ago. It's fine.

It's easily way more enjoyable than these 3 games.

Kinda hilarious to me how it has better feeling combat than GTA5 given the amount of money that went into that game.

I still think Saints Row 2 is the best GTA style game though. I'd kill for a remaster of it.

I think the ports are pretty solid, the eshop Black Friday sale goes live at 2pm so might be worth seeing if they are part of the discounts?

Saints Row 3 and 4 are kind of different from each other, so it's best to know which gameplay style you're after. The Third is the standard down on the ground action, with some fairly solid gunplay if stiff driving control. With 4, you won't be needing vehicles unless the mission forces them since you've got a lot of superpowers to be playing around with that will negate any reason to use a vehicle. You'll still need weapons, even if you have super abilities, as there are points when those abilities are stripped from you. There's some good missions in both games, with great finales, so you definitely can't go wrong there.

I do hope the new game uses the gangs it introduces well within missions, as that's something both 3 and 4 lack. No idea how it was with the first two games, but I'm guessing half the missions weren't glorified tutorials for the activities.

Can't afford them just right now, because it's more than halfway through the month and I'm on the verge of buying a PC.

Looking at Dekudeals they regularly go sale through the year anyway so you’ll catch them at some point

Gat out of Hell is really good and a stand alone dlc full game from Saint Row.

I'm going to get saints row 3 remaster on PS5 when it's next cheap. Hopefully GTA trilogy gets patched so at least it's a smooth experience.

Going from GTA 3 to Vice City is still really stunning with the bright colours and compared to grey original game.

Wish my image sig would work

5/10 and a mediocre rating from IGN:

GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition is defective, disappointing, and surprisingly disrespectful to three classic games and their many legions of fans.

Really not impressed with the lack of any patch details. Rockstar are being pretty shitty with this release. I know they subbed it out to another team, but they really need to offer refunds or set a timescale for patching it.

Just saw the Jimquisition rant about how gooseberry fool this trilogy is, seems fairly spot on too.

Also, I always figured Jim (now James Stephanie) was a little 'different' but it was slightly surprising to find out the wig and lipstick weren't just the typical 'Sterling being odd' schtick but actually part of his/her gender identity. Fair play I guess, especially knowing how divisive their opions can be and how hateful the YT comments can be.

Hi everyone,

We want to provide an update regarding the unexpected technical issues that came to light as part of the launch of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.

Firstly, we want to sincerely apologize to everyone who has encountered issues playing these games.

The Grand Theft Auto series — and the games that make up this iconic trilogy — are as special to us as we know they are to fans around the world. The updated versions of these classic games did not launch in a state that meets our own standards of quality, or the standards our fans have come to expect.

We have ongoing plans to address the technical issues and to improve each game going forward. With each planned update, the games will reach the level of quality that they deserve to be.

A new Title Update is on the way in the coming days for all versions of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition that will address a number of issues. We will update everyone as soon as it is live.

In the meantime, it pains us to mention that we are hearing reports of members of the development teams being harassed on social media. We would kindly ask our community to please maintain a respectful and civil discourse around this release as we work through these issues.

While one of the goals of the Definitive Editions was to allow players to enjoy these games on modern platforms for many years to come, we also understand that some of you would still like to have the previous classic versions available for purchase.

We will be adding the classic PC versions of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas back to the Rockstar Store shortly as a bundle. Additionally, everyone who has purchased Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition for PC from the Rockstar Store through June 30, 2022, will receive these classic versions in their Rockstar Games Launcher library at no additional cost. We will update everyone as soon as these are back in the Rockstar Store.

Once again, we'd like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while we work through these updates to ensure these games meet everyone's justifiably high standards.

Sincerely,
Rockstar Games

I'll be surprised if that studio that ported it gets any work from them again.

Good to hear they are working on the game, I’ll give it 6 months and check what condition the Switch version is in
