I wouldn't say future games make the previous obsolete. 3 was the jump to 3D so obviously different to the 2D games, Vice City and San Andreas have their own settings (Vice City is my favourite), I didn't like 4 at all, and 5 I like for the online but would still rather play 3 or Vice City as a singleplayer sandbox.

Unless you'd be fine with sitting a child down for a nice game of Eternal Darkness, Killer 7 or Resi 4.

In fairness I don't think it's really a like for like comparison when you look at Nintendo vs. Microsoft or Sony, and also there's a higher percentage than I think a lot of people realise. After the SNES kinda strawberry floated it by not having any adult games, there was a marked increase in shooters and "gory" games on the N64 and that continued on through the years. It's just that Nintendo themselves don't release games like that and the consoles are usually defined by first party output.

Sony have stricter content policies than Nintendo regarding sexualised content.

I don't think I've ever replayed a GTA game. I get really excited when the PS2 trilogy gets ported to something and buy it, but I start it up, mess around, and then turn it off. Same with GTA V and new hardware. I played it at launch on 360, and since bought it on PC and Xbox One, turned it on to check out how nice it looks, messed about a bit, then turned it off. I don't know why this is, as GTA 3 through to GTA V have all been games I loved and would class amongst my games of the gen.

With the ps2 trilogy port the controls killed it for me.

GTA V I played on 360 and ps4. I would probably play an upgraded GTA 5 on ps5 (if it was free) but that is only because I crave a new GTA game

It's not as if they're completely remaking it with the GTAV engine right, just uprezzing? I'd rather they port Liberty City and Vice City Stories to Steam.

Hmm... Interesting. If it's getting rated, maybe that means an early October announcement for release on the anniversary date. I can certainly hope.

GTA3 had the best soundtrack anyway and that one made the least use of licensed songs

Well, there's a lot of fire spreading now in regards to these being real, direct (or indirect, anyway) from Rockstar themselves.

I really hope for an announcement very soon.
