PostLaptop buying help....

Wow first post in months!

Anyway I've been out of the pc game for years now and I'm not up to date with what is hot and what is not.

Cut a short story short, I've £400 max and need a new laptop sharpish. Any recommendations? All I ask is it has Windows 7, ideally more than 2GB of RAM and at least 2Ghz processor.

I'm currently looking on Ebuyer but there are soooo many choices.

Cheers guys.

Only 3 weeks ago, I picked up a Compaq Presario CQ61-425 off Dabs.com for £317 less Quidco (£10 off plus 3% cashback). It's got 2.2 Ghz Processor, 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD and came with Windows 7 Home Premium edition. 15.6" screen. This is the same model but now listed at £359.59

I know this is at the bottom end of the specs you're looking at but at least you have something around the £300 -£350 mark to benchmark against. As you say, there is a lot of choice!

If you do go for dabs.com, don't forget to heck out Quidco for any vouchers as well as % cashback.

Let us know how you get on with your searching!

I can vouch for this laptop.

Brought it off Ebuyer a couple of months ago. It's not a gaming machine (it will run titles a few years old) but for everything else it's great. No complaints.

Just seen this on Aldi's website. Okay it's £100 over, but the spec is not bad. It'll definitely play StarCraft 2 + most other titles, albeit with some compromises.

There's also a three year warranty. Although some people may baulk at the Medion brand.
