Interesting. I only gave Father Of The Bride a couple of spins (context) as I found it a bit patchy. Maybe I should give it another try.

It's been YEARS since I last listened to this album all the way through.

Mr Brightside is now basically unlistenable through being overplayed. But the rest of it is great.

The second half of Hot Fuss is absolute dogshit, and it's still the best album they've ever put out.

First six or so songs from Hot Fuss are incredible.

Not sure I can even remember the rest of the album.

I liked MVOTC but I loved Father of the Bride

I love the album....I always skip Hey Ya though....Oh and Hudson is poo too.

I've been following Bloodywood for a while and love their debut album. There's a couple of tracks that I'm not feeling and one single that they released isn't on the album which is disappointing and surprising since it was a much better song than the two weaker songs on the album. A very strong 8/10.

I'm gutted that they've had to move their tour to next year meaning I won't get to see them live.

Absolutely phenomenal new album from Gang of Youths, primarily about the life of the lead singers late father, dealing with themes of identity, death, grief and God. It's musically dense, full of lots of interesting ideas, but also feels honest and deeply personal. You feel like David Le'aupepe is laying himself bare and really coming to terms with the complicated relationship he had with his father. But despite the heavy themes it feels uplifting and spiritual, constantly pulling out catchy melodies and radio friendly hooks. It all comes together beautifully. Can't stop playing it.

From what I gather, it's not so much the music that people dislike VW for but more that Ezra Koenig may or may not be a proper wrong 'un. No concrete accusations made as of yet but the receipts are allegedly there if you know where to find them.

For me, it's absolutely the music. Just can't get into it.

Not my first time trying a Ghost album but so far it's the only one I like. A brilliant album, I love most of the songs, there's one I'm not sure about yet and only two tracks that I don't like. Only one of those is a song, the other an instrumental, so I don't want to penalise the album too much

I don't think I've ever listened to an entire Stones album before. So I googled which is the best album and Sticky Fingers was the top or near the top on the rankings I looked at.

It's a cracking album that shifts around among a few genres. Country in places, blues in others, pure late 60s/early 70s pop and some rock n roll thrown in for good measure.

Brown Sugar's lyrics are so dated (to put it mildly) but strawberry float me if it doesn't sound good. :lol:

Basically all their albums around that period are class, everything else is a bit hit and miss. Exile On Main Street is probably my favourite.

It's weird and brilliant in equal measure and I like it a lot. Was very underwhelmed with his previous album (Boarding House Reach) as aside from the excellent Over and Over the vast majority of the album is far too experimental and self indulgent to be enjoyable. This time, while Jack has retained a lot of the experimental sounds of BHR but reintruduced the heavily distorted guitar sounds of his White Stripes and Dead Weather output to create something far more balanced yet still unique and fresh. 8/10

Also, respect to Jack for finding an actual creative use for the ridiculous Korg Miku stomp pedal (for those unfamiliar with this, its essentially a novelty guitar effect pedal that makes a guitar sound like the virtual Japanese pop idol Hatsune Miku, this can be heard in Into the Twilight).

Haven't listened to a full St Vincent album before, just the odd song here and there (the more guitar based ones) but this is really quite something, its weird and seems to flit between genres almost every few minutes but its so well produced and just works.

Some of the guitar effects she uses are incredible.

But MHTL is right, it's a really great album. It even manages to fit in a weird Only Fools And Horses tribute song in the middle.

Much better than Band on the Run, i especially liked Monkberry Moon Delight, cracking song.

I've been looking forward to this for ages. There's been some blowback from fans who don't think it's "crazy" enough or in keeping with previous albums. Personally I think it's brilliant, a big step up from Metal Galaxy (my least favourite Baby Metal album) and it's nice to hear them try something a bit different. Not quite as good as Metal Resistance but definitely a great 8/10 from me.
