They're only the band the Beatles could have been

Wagakki Band are one of my favourite discoveries of the past few years. I don't think they've released a bad album yet (I think the latest is perhaps their weakest). These are their strongest albums, easily 8s and 9s out of 10

A great band to listen to whilst enjoying a lovely can of Fanta, fresh from the mini bar

These people might have very nice Tudor-ette style housing, but can they order an Irish coffee at 3am and have it delivered to their room?

Is "folk metal" a big thing? (if indeed that's what this would be classed as!)

This feels like it shouldn't work and yet it's actually a surprisingly successful blend!

Yeah, there is some awesome songs from this sub genre.

Now that I've proven I have impeccable music taste, you should all check out the album I'm listening to this afternoon. Return to the Sauce by the Israeli duo, Infected Mushroom. They also have a track from an earlier album in which Sasha Grey provided the vocals, if that piece of trivia is of interest to anyone.

Them Crooked Vultures - 10/10

Basically a slightly funkier Queens of the Stone Age album featuring the legendary John Paul Jones (with Dave Grohl and Alain Johannes).

Up to track 6 on this now and it's really not doing it for me. It's not bad in any way but I've got it on whilst I'm working and it isn't grabbing me enough to really draw my attention away from what I'm doing.

I'm like that with most music, I have to give it my full attention otherwise I just lose interest.

I literally cannot multitask.

This is a fair point and using it as background noise is probably doing it a disservice! Also it's not always the case that you can get a real feel for something on a first listen either.

I have really liked the last two tracks as it happens, Scumbag Blues in particular had a nice dirty groove to it.

Scumbag Blues is one the best songs of the album, the whole song has such has a brilliant groove to it and the sinister lyrics being sung falsetto works brilliantly.

Enjoyed that overall in the end, definitely worth another listen when I'm less distracted to see what else I get from it!
