Trying to watch "Upstream Color". What the strawberry float is this gooseberry fool? Is it because I'm jet lagged? This is like watching a dream which only half makes sense and flits around with no real purpose.

Turned it off. I mean strawberry floating hell. Seriously?

Amazing Spiderman 2

Nowhere near as bad as I was expecting. A solid 7/10.

I liked Primer but with this I got the impression from the trailer that it's not a film I'd enjoy watching.

This seems like something media studies students would pretend to understand in order to justify their gooseberry fool choice of uni degree.

I did a BTEC in IT so perhaps I shouldn't be too judgemental :slol:

The Grand Budapest Hotel - 8/10

I didn't know anything about this before watching it, was just going on a recommendation from a friend. Really enjoyable though. Engaging and lots of funny moments. Ralph Fiennes was brilliant.

Adrian Brody turning around and shouting at him may be the funniest moment in any film for years.

Upstream Color is confusing for the most part, but it's easy enough to explain when you reach the end. In fact you can sum it up in a few words. Far simpler to get your head around than Primer. But it is incredibly vague and artsy till the conclusion provides the answers.

Literally watched that tonight. I'd have to agree with you. Fiennes was really good and a lot of the cameos are excellent. Very interestingly visually too. Lots of interesting shots as well as great throwaway pieces of action and comedy. 8/10

Transformers: Age Of Extinction - 7/10
I was pleasantly surprised by this. Put it on expecting to be disappointed yet again, but it was enjoyable, mindless fun.

Standard complaints:
The girl was completely pointless. Did nothing but yelp and need rescued by either Wahlberg or the supposedly Irish, but occasionally Aussie sounding boyfriend. Literally only there as eye candy.
Plot was utter nonsense.
Dinobots were cool, but not explained at all. Not once does anyone mention or seem surprised by the fact that Optimus is riding around on what is basically a giant robot T-Rex.
Far too long.
Michael Bay needs to hire an editor that can trim out a lot of the more pointless moments.

Surprising Compliments:
Stanley Tucci was great. But that's to be expected.
Like I said, cool Dinobots.
Not a single sign of Shite Lebeouf. Him not being in it alone makes it ten times better as we don't have to suffer through his "acting".
Galvatron was cool, but felt he was under-used as they're clearly setting him up for the next movie.

So it's probably my favourite of the four. The rest are just horrendous, if enjoyable in places. This one never really had any moments that made me want to turn it off. It's enjoyable, turn your brain off entertainment.

Rocky 3 - 7. Finally got round to watching this. Pretty good fun although I found the first bout between Rocky and Clubber a little unrealistic when no one was blocking. Thought the rematch was a little on the short side and the "tactic" tire Clubber out by continuously letting him hit Rocky a little silly, but as I said, all good fun.

Tempted to watch Rocky IV again - not seen this since 86 (or possibly 87) when I saw it at the cinema!

Although a movie version of it, isn't that tactic basically Mohammed Ali's rope a dope?

Watch Rocky IV, it's silly but awesome.

Are you there? - 5/10 one of those low budget Ouiji board films. Wasn't bad, wasn't good.

Has two awesome training montages back to back. That is my highlight of the film.

I have the Rocky IV soundtrack album on vinyl. I used to love the instrumentals for Training Montage and War. Actually, it was just a damn fine album. /

I'll have to see if I can find it and convert to MP3....

Only God Forgives - 4.5/10
Very little about this film is good. Ryan Gosling doesn't even take his shirt off.

Edge of Tomorrow 9/10

Thoroughly enjoyed it, could really see where all the money had gone.
You should've spoilered the fact there's a final rewind, FE, as it meant I knew he wasn't gonna die when the Omega went off. Thought the ending was fine, though.

The ending was corny and made no sense, but I thought the film had earned it by then

 Sorry, but it just pissed me off so much. As a story of a coward redeeming himself, it really shouldn't have had the extra 'ending'. I thought him sacrificing himself at the end, knowing he would get no extra lives to be quite a powerful scene. And then they spoiled it with a happy ending
