Captain America 2 - 9/10

It's the only Iron Man film I've not seen in the cinema.

tbf Jackson *has* been writing the Hobbit films like they're a prequel trilogy (with the Legolas love story and what Gandalf does when he buggers off, etc).

LoTR is a sequel to The Hobbit, but they are different books/films.

But it does feature the ring.

Gone Girl - 8/10

Enjoyed this immensely, Fincher continues to be one of my favourite directors. Another great OST from Reznor and Ross too.

Gone Girl 8.5/10 This was NOT what I was expecting. I don't often go into movies completely blind but I did with this. Never saw the trailer, haven't read any reviews, I just knew the basic premise, that it was David Fincher's new movie and that is starred Ben Affleck. Boy, that was entertaining as strawberry float! On the edge of my seat almost the entire movie. I echo Crimson's comment about the soundtrack, it was absolutely immense.

Gone Girl 8/10 Love the soundtrack, felt it was the key to what made it so good. A bit like Under The Skin.

The Quiet Ones.

Oh my God this is the most relentlessly dull movie in the world. Not helped by the fact that the sound mixing is so bad it's damn near impossible to hear the dialogue. The 'quiet' bits are so quiet but the loud bits are too loud so there's no single volume where both are tolerable.

The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty - 6.5

Nothing wrong with it, but likewise didn't end up thinking "that was good". For anyone interested, you can find this on Netflix.

Yes?

Gone Girl - 6/10

Knew nothing, no expectations, totally underwhelmed. Don't really want to dignify it by discussing it any further.

Star Driver The Movie 2/10 Recap film for a series which tries to be so many things, but ends failing at them all.

The Amazing Spiderman 2 - 7/10 Not too bad at all. Though personally, I still don't think they've got the Green Goblin done right? At least this one had a go at making him a mutant/beast (like the old comic style)

Yeah, yeah I know it won't fit with the current style of the movies.......

I am still not sure which Green Goblin is better in the modern Spiderman films. The power rangers suit is pretty naff. In this, it seems he's like a tramp with molds growing all over him.

It's all well saying that it wouldn't suit the film's setting, but they seem to be okay to transform a stereotype nerd/genius into an electric man and have a man transform into a Lizard. So a comic book Green Goblin wouldn't look out of place to be honest. But they'll probably ruin it anyway.

Just seems to me that Marc Webb is/was totally disinterested in anything other than Peter Parker's love life.

That's just a costume, Green Goblin in the original comics wasn't a mutant. Green Goblin from the Ultimate Comics though does change into a goblin form.

Punch Drunk Love 9/10 Wasn't expecting what I got, and Adam Sandler was brilliant. Which I'd never have expected.

It's what makes most of his films so bad, he can actually act. At least Rob Schneider isn't capable of more

Gone girl. Again I went into it cold. No trailers.

My word. That was astonishing. Some great performances. The lawyer and the policewoman were great supporting roles. Rosamund Pike - my word. Stunningly beautiful but used that natural poise and beauty to visceral and shattering effect in a great performance.
Loved it. Really loved it. 9/10
