That wasn't anywhere near as bad as I expected, yes the first half of the film dragged on a bit and the CGI was a tad shoddy but it was a fun watch nontheless.

The post credits scene was exactly as I predicted Carnage will be in the sequel - although I don't see how considering how all the other symbiotes apparently died

The Carnage symbiote is Venom's asexually produced child.

That makes sense, I'm guessing it gets left in the cell of the guy Eddie is interviewing and then subsequently bonds with him

T2 Trainspotting

Unsurprisingly not as good as the first but enjoyable nonetheless.

End of Watch - 7/10; Drama following two LA Cops played by Michael Pena and Jake Gyllenhaal.

The Incredibles 2 - 7/10

Once Upon A Time In The West - 6/10; beautifully shot, great sets and score but bloated and slow. Don't think it's the masterpiece IMDB would have you believe and not a patch on the Dollars Trilogy.

I agree with this, but it's got the best and funniest scene from both movies in it when they go to the orange lodge. I was in tears.

Yeah that bit was hilarious. A reasonably enjoyable film overall, but a did feel there was a lot of references to the first movie in a bid keep the viewer interested in an otherwise flimsy story.

Click. The first half of the film is the usual Adam Sandler crude rubbish. 1/10. But the second half of the film ramps up the sentimentality and subtlety. 8/10.

Spider-Man: into the spider verse.

9.5/10

The best Spider-Man film ever. Possibly one of the best movies I’ve seen in my lifetime.

Watchmen - 7/10

It's bloated, but enjoyable. Kinda gets worse as the thing goes along. The start of it is pretty much fantastic.

Totally agree with this - everything about it was just so strong. I've watched it half a dozen times since it was in cinemas and it hasn't dulled the impact of the movie at all. A genuine animation masterpiece IMO.

Hellboy - 4/10; tried not to listen to the critics and go see what it was like and found it to be just below average. None of the jokes seemed to land and Jin from Lost’s English accent is horrific.

Greta - 6/10; thought this was canny, young woman finds a bag on the subway returns it to the woman who she finds out does this on purpose and is a psycho / stalker.

Back to the Future Live - 10/10 - went to my first orchestrated film viewing at the Gateshead Sage; it’s been a while since I’ve seen it but it’s just a classic! The whole place was laughing all the way through, so clever how they play the score note for note and in time, so clever! I’ll definitely go and see more of these in the future, Star Wars, Jurassic Park and Jaws must be great!

Ticket I got was a bit pricey at £50 but the hairs on my body were stood up the entire time, Great Scot it was electric!

Went to see this last week in Birmingham and I agree, when that theme kicks in it’s truly electric!

The Matrix - my delivery for the 4K Blu-ray boxset came the other day...the film is still one of the best cyberpunk, semi philosophical action movies ever made. The lack of reliance on CGI means it doesn't look too dated (I'm not expecting this to hold up for the last film), the music is still brilliant, the fight scenes have aged well, even the ropework holds up and the balance between story and action is pretty much perfect.

Some of the cuts, pans and scene settings do seem a little more dated. It's very obviously a 1990's film in places but that isn't a bad thing but I don't think it would have made to the cinema in it's current state in the modern film world.

In terms of the quality of the 4k HDR movie - is great overall. When it's good it's brilliant but there are some scenes that seem to be to have a lot of noise. The scene where Neo is being interviewed by Smith is messy and this happens in one other scenes as well. I also had some problems during the Dojo fight with codec artifacts becoming obvious for a short period. Not clear if this was my player or actually on the disc. These are minor complaints against and otherwise excellent conversion.

Overall, worth getting in 4K and worth watching again...or for the first time if you're some kind of monster that has never seen it before.

The Dirt - 6/10

I know bugger all about Motley Crue so have no idea how accurate a biopic this was. It’s an alright movie, nothing special.
