I have begun to not completely detest Moana. My kid has battered me into submission with her repeated viewings.

Also we finally managed to finish The Lion King (1994) after at least 25 attempts.

Frozen was the most watched film. And like a good dad, I let it gooooooooooooooo!

Underwater (2020) 10/10

I've been waiting ages to see this. Finally imported the Blu-ray and it's fantastic. The basic story is an underwater mining team trying to escape following an accident on the ocean floor.

The action starts within a few minutes and it doesn't slow down at all. Just pure tension and panic. The cast are modelled on Alien's Cast and the decisions they make are all grounded in reality. Also the suits are a nod to alien.

The big twist of the film is..... Big. It lifts the film from a solid 8 to a 10.

Effects are all amazingly well done and there are loads of subtle things going on with secrets and references and madenss and more. Some good YouTube videos about the movie that show why it's so brilliant.

Moana is wonderful! Maybe not after 25 viewings but it is one of Disney's best ever.

The Irishman 9/10

finally got round too watching this watched it in 3 sittings. Good storyline each scene has time too flesh out the story and characters acted brilliantly by all actors good too Joe Pesci in his final movie Pacino and De Niro were on top form. I really like the soundtrack.

This is one of those last great epic films that rarely get made anymore over 3 and half hours long. Martin Scorsese at his best

The Lion King is amazing.

TENET 6/10

Comfortably Nolan's worst as far as I'm concerned. I don't care that I didn't get what was going on, it was more that I didn't care what was going on. As soon as the scientist lady said "Don't think about it too much" it lost me and really felt like someone just...making gooseberry fool up? I mean I know that's what movies are but the artifice is to hide that behind some sort of internal consistency or the patina of believability. This had neither.

It looked pretty good, but was shot in a way that made me think Nolan thought running half the film backwards would be more impressive than it actually was, as a lot of it was actually quite dull. The final battle sequence for example was really rather boring.

Good soundtrack though.

Yes, I don't think Tenet really worked. Felt like Nolan had a great idea in there somewhere but he got too bogged down with everything this time.

I'd still probably put TDKR as his worst film personally, since it was flat as a pancake and felt like a really tired final installment to what could have been a great trilogy. It's his only film I've never wanted to rewatch. At least Tenet was a unique concept and was shot in a more interesting way I think, despite being a bit of a failure.

Really excellent but it didn't half make me feel anxiety in the pit of my stomach. Feels like one of those films that's going to stay with me a while.

Two Mules For Sister Sara - 8/10

A really good underrated Clint Eastwood western aside from the dollars trilogy also it has an excellent soundtrack by Ennio Morricone

Two Mules for Sister Sara is a 1970 American-Mexican Western film in Panavision directed by Don Siegel and starring Shirley MacLaine (billed above Clint Eastwood in the film's credits, but not on the poster) set during the French intervention in Mexico (1861–1867). The film was to have been the first in a five-year exclusive association between Universal Pictures and Sanen Productions of Mexico.[4] It was the second of five collaborations between Siegel and Eastwood, following Coogan's Bluff (1968). The collaboration continued with The Beguiled and Dirty Harry (both 1971) and finally Escape from Alcatraz (1979).

The plot follows an American mercenary who gets mixed up with a nun and aids a group of Juarista rebels during the puppet reign of Emperor Maximilian in Mexico.[5][6] The film featured both American and Mexican actors and actresses, including being filmed in the picturesque countryside near Tlayacapan, Morelos. Ennio Morricone composed the film's music.

The last ten minutes of that are incredible. Almost as good as the last ten minutes of La La Land. Damien Chazelle is a genius.

The call of the wild - 7/10

Signed up to Disney plus last night so we put on a feel good film. The effects are bloody good on the dogs.

I watched it last week and it was impressive.

I enjoyed the film. I would recommend to anybody to watch it if you want a feel good film.
