Been meaning to watch The Dawn Wall. I loved Free Solo, even if it did make me feel sick at times

It’s on Netflix and it has one of the guys from Free Solo as the focus of it (Tommy Caldwell). Really interesting!

I always had a soft spot for this remake, it's unremarkable but enjoyable I thought. Check out the original if you can. Very different tone.

Bladerunner 2047 - 8/10

Watched this again as I got it cheap on disc. Movie looks great. Some of the performances are stellar (I love the antagonist, she is brilliantly unhinged). I don't like Gosling, he's like a strawberry floating brick, but it doesn't hurt the movie too much.

Avengers (2012) - 9/10

Couldn't sleep last night so randomly watched the first Avengers movie on my phone in bed (no idea why I didn't choose to use the time to watch one of the many newer Marvel movies that I still haven't got round to seeing! :fp: ) I still think it's such a great super hero movie, really well put together and almost perfectly paced.

On Chesil Beach - 2/10

Ended up watching it on BBC2 last night, and it was really, really dull.

There weren't any ad breaks to give you some entertainment, which is a shame.

Where did you watch Jojo Rabbit? I've been waiting since I missed it in the cinema.

Got it on Blu-Ray, it's been out for about a month I think.

Ah nice. Hoping for it to arrive on Sky Cinema, Netflix or Amazon at some point!

Game Night - 8

Surprised by this, didn't have the highest of expectations but this is a really well made comedy film. Very funny, a likeable cast with some great lines and the cinematography was actually brilliant-a way higher standard than you usually find in these type of films. They clearly spent a lot of time figuring out the best way to frame a lot of the more visual jokes (such as when the bribe scene) that really helped the execution . And the way they played with tropes produced some funny moments. Loved the egg chase single shot scene too.

Would recommend if you're looking for a light hearted comedy.

Coherence - 7.5/10
I'd seen this once before but other than the general premise I couldn't remember anything other than I loved it.

This time it still was a good film but the low budget was a bit more obvious, the sound is a bit annoying (lots of background talking), and it didn't quite flow that smoothly.
Still good but not perfect.

Da 5 Bloods - 7/10

Hmmm. I enjoyed watching this but it also felt very nothingy. Worth watching once, but I doubt I ever will again.

The Lunchbox 6/10 - Cute pen pal movie with delicious looking lunches. I was snacking throughout to deal it.

La Vie De Boheme 8/10 - A bunch of deadbeat artists getting by in Paris. The deadpan humour really tickled me.

Lady & The Tramp (2019) - 3/10

Yet another absolutely dire live-action remake from the hacks at Disney. strawberry float me it was a soulless affair, even my daughter got bored and she loves the animated original.
