Sonic The Hedgehog - 7/10

Pretty good fun actually, and at least Sonic wasn't that awful design they unveiled in the beginning.

The Good, The Bad, The Weird

I love this movie. So stylish with great action, music and sense of humour. The race through the desert is such a thrilling climax before the finale.

Is it streaming on anything? Missed it when it was last on Netflix.

Wishmaster - 7/10

I really enjoyed this one. It's a bit hammy in places, but it's a fun idea. Really liked the practical effects. Couldn't quite figure if they overdubbed the voice of the Wishmaster. I assume it was.

Annabelle - 5/10

This one was dire. I thought the sequel, Annabelle Creation, was way, way better.

I'll have to watch that and The Nun.

A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood

Kinda conflicted about this one, as on one hand, Tom Hanks was terrific (and the use of models for the exterior shots was a really neat touch), while on the other, the rest of the characters weren't particularly likeable, and it was at times, incredibly dull, and also pretty bleak.

Ford Vs Farrari / Le Mann's 66
9/10
Brilliant. Really surprised I didn't hear more about this when it first came out. By same person who did Logan, so I'll be keeping an eye on what he does next.

Burden of Dreams 9/10 Still unbelievable that Fitzcarraldo was finished, even more so after watching this. Dreams win.

Infernal Affairs II 5/10 It's no Godfather II.

Onward - 6/10

Either i've seen films like this too many times, or i just wasn't in the mood for it. As always with Pixar, the visuals were excellent, but the story just felt like Pixar by numbers and nothing about it really stood out.

Coco - 7/10

It's a good film with some good songs. But it's nowhere near top tier Pixar.

Mon Oncle 7/10 Cute film with a catchy tune. I have mixed feelings about how similar my current life is to the uncle...

I don't think there's actually been a top tier Pixar movie since Inside Out.

And on that note...

Cars 3 - 3/10

It's not as bad as the abomination that was Cars 2, but this is a piss poor movie. Just so boring.

And now I'm up to date on Pixar other than the 2020 movies.

Have you seen Book of Life? I love the look of Coco and the music is top notch but Book of Life is a better film.

No, my wife told me Book of Life is better but I've not gotten around to it yet.

They Live 6/10- Was really excited for this, unfortunately it's a bit of a let down the idea is good but it's messily executed.

Whilst on John Carpenter thought the Thing was excellent, what are the other two films in the Apocalypse Trilogy like?

Vertigo - 9/10

I said a while ago that of all the Hitchcock movies, I had shamefully only ever seen The Birds and Psycho. But I saw Netflix added Vertigo.

It's a bit bloody good isn't it? The effects are a little ropey now but otherwise it's a great movie. It was really nice to watch with absolutely no idea of what the movie was about, all I knew was it was a Hitchcock film and it was probably about a fear of heights.
