It's on Amazon Prime though. I've watched the first 6 episodes now and I like it. Wasn't immediately grabbed but it's easy watching and moreish.

Looking forward to D&D

The thing about D&D films is that it's such a missed opportunity.

They also did a film of the Dragonlance Chronicles book 1 which is an amazing story but they strawberry floated it up as well.
There's 100's of novels set in various D&D settings with some wonderful stories by some amazing authors and yet they don't use any of that which is a real shame.

If I had the money I'd love to have a decent animation studio work with those authors to make an anthology series based on those novels as I honestly think people would be surprised at how good the stories are.
I know a lot of people are snobby about D&D but it has all sorts of stories set in a wide variety of locations and overall settings including the outer planes and space as well as standard fantasy stuff.

Hereditary - 5/10
This was one of those films that started out as being slightly intriguing, and then you're waiting for it to become more than that - waiting for something good to happen, waiting for some kind of revelation, waiting for something more than a feeling of "it'll get good soon...", but then it never really does. Lots of names, ideals, symbols, and hints of a coherent plot are thrown at you, but they never really come together or get explained, so it's just left as a weird mess.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri - 8/10
I didn't know anything about this at all before watching it - genre, actors, plot - but it really grabbed me. The humour was pretty well done, and suitably jarring in places, and there were some really good performances. There were a couple of missteps - the ending being one of them - but I could've kept watching for a lot more than the running time, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Endgame is great, I have a slight preference for Infinity War but Endgame is still an impressive conclusion. I like the fact that it opens with quite a slow and bleak tone - they lost FFS! :lol:

Are you genuinely criticising the sequel to a movie where half the actual universe dies for opening up with a bit of moping around?

The u ok hun fearless single mum sat next to us in the cinema (who was taking selfies of herself the entire way through the film) loudly went OH MY GOD NO! when you saw hawkeye's family get dusted right at the start. It was one of those 'did you even watch the other film?' Moments

Yes. It's an action movie. It doesn't make it compelling viewing when there's zero action for extended periods in it.

That's not to say that they shouldn't address it. But they needed to be wary about the potential impact of it on the movies narrative flow/momentum.

Cape Fear 7/10 Probably would have scored it higher if I'd seen it in the cinema in the 90s but I've watched the Simpsons Episode a lot of times and general pop culture references meant I knew what was coming up.

On the Rocks 7/10 Maybe a slightly inflated score because I saw it in the cinema, but kept my attention throughout and I like Bill Murray and Rashida Jones.

Very enjoyable classic bond adventure with plenty of memorable moments.

Live and Let Die 7/10
Bit daft but fun Bond adventure, awesome theme song to boot.

The highlight is definitely the big action scene finale so yes it does get better

Infinity War was pretty much non-stop action, they had to take a breather in Endgame to build for the grand finale.

And Fat Thor was great! I do agree about Stark casually solving time travel though. That was ridiculous.

It's not as if Stark got time travel out of nowhere though. Ant-Man gave him the method of using the quantum realm, it just needed to be fixed.

Solving time travel quickly is not really far fetched in a movie series where a man turns green when he gets angry, another man shrinks to the size of an ant and another man is actually a planet.
