Dark Fate was just another skidmark in the Terminator y-fronts.

I thought Dark Fate was a solid 7/10 action film and comfortably the third-best Terminator, to be honest. Rise of the Machines is a bit poor, Resistance is OK and Genisys is a legitimately appalling movie.

Salvation is so bad Cora can't even bring himself to give it an adjective

Being the third best Terminator movie isn't a hard target to achieve.

No, I said Resistance when I meant Salvation.

It's about the definition of generic, I think. Solid 5 or 6/10 action film but there's absolutely nothing memorable about it. Not even the name...

EDIT: Yeah I know that, but the point was that I wouldn't say Dark Fate is a skidmark of a movie. It's actually pretty good!

Salvation wasn't anything amazing, but at least they tried something different by setting it during the war.

Any further sequels should have continued on from it as there was plenty of story opportunities and new ideas which could have came of how it ended (and they could have hired some better writers and stuff to improve the overall product).

Rebooting the story just to try and redo the T2 formula didn't work, Dark Fate was okay but did nothing new, while Genisys was dreadful.

Salvation was alright for what it was, and comparatively I respect it more than the rest of the post T2 films because it attempted something different from the rest of them by setting the entire film during the war. I completely agree with Vermi's take on Salvation here.

oh uh yeah they probably shouldnt have included the CGI arnold I guess

Salvation is definitely the least-smelly skidmark, I would agree with that. Genisys is pure diarrhoea.

I'd go with this. You don't need more than the first two films.

Just watched ‘Fractured’.

Meh? There’s a better film in the premise. But it leans so hard on the unreliable narrator tropes in the opening half hour that when it tried to to pull the ‘oooooh it’s an organ harvesting conspiracy thing’ stuff that make up the majority of the second act that it’s completely unconvincing. When the final reveal happens it’s not ‘Oh my god I never saw THAT coming’ it’s just ‘right, I assumed it was probably something like that but ok’.

Meh.

T1 > T2 > T3 > Salvation > Dark Fate > Sarah Connor Chronicles > Genisys

T3 actually featured some of the best action scenes of the entire series, and the ending was a brilliantly unexpected twist. Just a shame it was let down by a few moments of nonsensical silliness which should have been edited out of the final cut.

I rewatched T2 yesterday and it’s awesome, but it’s definitely behind T1. The rest can get in the bin.

Ooooooo Terminator.

The only ones which matter are the first two. The rest remind of those Goosebump books where you would pick an ending & it would be something daft (though I do have a soft spot for 3)

Went to see The Suicide Squad- was an absolute riot  :toot:
If you haven’t seen it yet there are two credit scenes

Would be nice if The Mouse & Marvel have the balls (HAVE THE BALLS!) to let Gunn loose for Guardians 3.

To throw in on the Terminator Chat....

T2>T1>T3>Salvation>Who Gives A strawberry float

First two are classics of cinema and are still amazing.

T3 and Salvation are both sequels that do some interesting things but are ultimately fun, if forgettable additions. I can happily watch them without any problem.

The others are mostly a waste of time and I've not got any real interest in watching them again. Maybe if I'm drunk at a mates house and we're watching whatever crap is on TV, but even then I'll be wishing it was T2 instead.
